Finishing up a great time in Miami for the holiday. Decided to check out of a villa and spend one night closer to airport and chose Eden Roc due to recommendation. Big mistake. Front desk “Nora” was not helpful at all. We had 6 rooms all of which weren’t ready to check in. Only one was available and it was horrible, outdated, and just not up to par at all for the pricing. Stopped to sit at bar to wait and bartender automatically added 20% gratuity to bill for a party of two - no explanation. Waited until after 4pm check-in and still rooms not ready even when they stated they were being expedited. I asked to speak with manager or give name of general manager - everyone played dumb not knowing who that was. Same person at front desk who checked in one room leaves to get the manager and comes back as the “supervisor” even though she had to ask for help checking in the one initial room. Finally “Fernanda” a supervisor came to assist. Now it’s 4:30pm and only 4 of 6 rooms ready. Decided to cancel reservation for 6 rooms and go elsewhere. The only accommodation for our wasted day was $30 off for resort fee. Unacceptable - with 6 rooms (3 of which were suites) at the very least comp 2 nights.Just go somewhere else for the money otherwise you waste not only your money but your time. We went to “The Marriott Cadillac Hotel and Beach Club” a mile away and booked 6 rooms - no problem. Greeted by bell men and valet - easy. Checked in, rooms were upgraded and placed on same floor as requested - no debates. Great end to a wonderful holiday family trip with MARRIOTT!

We stayed for 6 nights last week. I'm going to try and write as objectively as possible. First off, please do not be under any illusion that this hotel is affiliated with the Hotel Cap Eden Roc group. We thought although the price was much cheaper that as they were using the name there must be something - but no - apparently it was simply named after the original hotel back in the 50's , when you were still allowed to do such things! I'll start with the plusses. Many of the hotel staff are great, notably Nico on reception who was very friendly and upgraded us to a room with a view on the 18th floor. We found the room itself to be clean, large and the beds were fairly comfortable. Also the beach staff - Karen, Don, Felipe, Neilson - all a credit to the hotel, as was George in the beach restaurant. The hotel is right on the beach - so easy access and a lovely situation. Unfortunately this is where the positives end. The 'Nobu' restaurant gave us frankly the worst restaurant experience I think I've ever had. We decided to eat breakfast at the hotel on the first morning following our 10 hour flight from the UK. We were there for over an hour and a half, we had to get up and ask 4 times - and 40 minutes before someone came to take our order (there were 6 staff and 6 tables occupied). We then waited another 40 minutes, with not so much as the coffee. And when the order finally came it was wrong. The manager finally seemed to take notice, apologised and assured us they would not charge us. Surprise surprise, it was added to our hotel bill! Other issues: we called down and asked for housekeeping to send a few extra cartons of milk and some tea bags (only 2 tiny cartons included in the room). An hour later, room service arrived and tried to charge us $20 for them! Our room was interconnected and on 2 nights we had to complain about the noise of partying from next door rooms. Sound proofing was not great. Woken every morning by staff jet washing the pool area - on the 18th floor! The pools, due to complete design oversight are in the shade all day. The rooms and the common areas are very tired and there was often trash in the hallways. My main issue however was the complete and utter disregard for the environment. There is no attempt whatsoever towards asking people to conserve their towels or recycle - and the sheer volume of plastic waste was absolutely staggering and frankly, really upsetting. We were so looking forward to our holiday, but the hotel really did have quite a negative impact on our time in Miami and I certainly wouldn't recommend it sadly.
Great Service at the Eden Roc Hotel!

Pauline 4th floor advisor was great! She helped with everything and was at our service whenever we needed it. She helped with the ice buckets, and she helped change the bed sheets. She also brought us toothpastes and towels, and was very nice to us.

Checked into this two star hotel (supposedly 5**), checkin to the hotel was a disaster with rude receptionists, luggage going missing and a hotel general manager who was degrading, ignorant and no regard for the customer. She should be ashamed of herself. Go to one of the other 100+ Miami hotels better than this one.
Fun packed trip

We had an amazing time at Eden Roc and really want to give a special shoutout to our good friend ANTONIO. He works poolside and made sure our trip was well worth every penny and gave us tons of suggestions which we took him up on. Keep it up Antonio. It was a pleasure meeting you! Also loved the backdoor beach access!
