For this price it’s perfectly sufficient

For the price we paid I cannot fault this hotel. Milan is an expensive city, and this was a pleasant enough stay. The hotel is clean and orderly. The locations is a tad far away from the main/central part. There is a bus stop about 150-200 metres from the hotel, no 54 bus takes you to the centre. It is frequent but with the roadworks it may take around 1/2 hr or more. Alternatively there’s an underground/train station “Dateo” but that’s about 15 minutes walk and there isn’t a direct route into the centre. So if you want to be close to all the attractions this may not be the best option. We were ok to travel so cannot complain. The hotel is clean and safe. The room was bright and airy and good size. The rooms are cleaned every day. Basic stuff but all in good order. There’s breakfast but remember, they like their sweet breakfasts in Milan so lots of pastries and cakes, some slices of cheese and boiled egg otherwise. If this is not for you, not worth paying extra for breakfast. However there is not much around in terms of cafes, so choose your battles. There’s a bank and 24 hr supermarket around the corner, very practical, because I don’t think tap water is drinkable, at least it didn’t taste too nice for us. There’s a fridge but can be a bit too noisy at night. We didn’t need it so unplugged it. No coffee/tea in the room. There’s a small safe and hairdryer too. For us by far the worst things was the noise from the room above and the next door, it is actually an apartment block with very little to no sound insulation. They have tiled floors wall to wall, plus high ceilings which practically magnifies even the smallest sounds. People above us constantly moved the chairs (dragging them on the floor) dropped things, and for some reason stomped up and down which made it impossible to fall asleep. We could hear the woman’s nagging her boyfriend clearly not sure if these were upstairs or Nextdoor, but it kept us up all night. Obviously there’s nothing the hotel can do about this situation. But dampened the whole experience quite a bit. The radiator was on but possibly because it was too small for the room we were a bit cold, the bathroom didn’t have any heating either. Again, we are fine with cooler temperatures that’s why it wasn’t a huge deal for us but if you like really toasty carpeted hotel rooms this May be a nightmare for you. Although I have a feeling this is more likely to be the norm. All and all I cannot say I didn’t like this hotel, they are friendly and helpful when we asked for information, they were happy to help. For this price I cannot and should not expect more. If you’re on a budget, ok to commute a bit I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Close to public transport
Reviewed 6 october, 2022
Pros: the hotel was quite clean, inside and outside, quiet (there was no noise from the street) and feels safe - it has a locked gate at the entrance; some rooms have a balcony; it is very close to the public transport (less than 1 min of walking to the station) taking you to the Cathedral or to the Central Station (around 15 min); it has a Carrefour market near (less than 1 min of walking) in case you need water or other stuff in the room, and also some goods restaurants nearby; the receptionist gives you all the info needed on arrival: a city map, main interest points, info on how the public transport is working and so on; the price quality ratio was okish compared to other hotels in Milan, offering the same service, but more expensive. Cons: the rooms are cleaned daily, however the towels are not changed (in 5 days, the towels were not changed at all). Don't be fooled if you find them nicely folded on the bed - these are the same towels you've been using so far (even if ours were wet, we still found them folded on the bed); the bed and pillows aren't so comfortable, on the bed there is only a sheet for covering, if you feel cold, there is a blanket in the wardrobe. however, the blanked didn't seem too clean; The rooms were very small, the natural and even the artificial light is very poor in the room; there is an issue with the hot water - we needed to turn on the water 15-20min prior to the shower so that we could have a proper shower; the breakfast is very very poor, it's not worth paying extra for it; the elevator is a headache - just don't forget to close the f***ing interior doors whenever you get out of it. otherwise, you'll have the receptionist at your door.

Alert! Rude receptionist/owner and bad services
Reviewed 17 september, 2022
It was the worst experience ever to be here. If you see all the comments are about this rude arrogant receptionist who is also the owner of this place. Firstly he will charge you extra if you have already paid online they call it tax for local municipal. Then if you complain about the services like AC not working his answer was not my problem if you’re staying for one day. He is rude arrogant Italian I’ve ever seen. Shame on him for being rude with people who is paying for his bad services. Pay extra and book somewhere else but don’t fall for this trap.

Basic. quiet.

The hotel is in a typical old Milanese house, which is quite unusual and therefore interesting for tourists. The reception is at the first floor (there are about 10 steps you can't avoid at the very entrance, so careful if you have very heavy luggage. no clue if there's a system for wheelchairs or strollers). The elevator is a bit small (again, old Milanese style!), but without luggage you don't have to wait for it all the time, since the stairs run just around it. The location is fairly handy, the street quiet and the room (4th floor) was surprisingly silent. A bit small, and the bathroom, without the window, was slightly stinking. Not pretty, but handy terrace facing the main road. We had a good room service with new toiletries and clean towels every morning. The reception is open 24/7. If the prices were lower, it would gain a 4th star.
