Awesome find for the one I had

Beautiful last minute booking found with Isola Apartments near Garibaldi station and was really handy for getting straight there on the main line via the airport.
Apartment was clean, massive for 1 and quiet courtyard with locals made me an awesome uninterrupted sleep. Great location too near cool bars. Local feel away from the busy centre.
Double booking error. We were found another place to stay and there within an hour.

Double booking error. We were found another place to stay and there within an hour. Disappointing when there’d been good communication.
Of course this happened when we were arriving late after a long journey with an early start the next morning for the onward journey. Waiting in the rain for 45 minutes.
We’d chosen the apartment purely for its closeness to the station for the next morning. The place we were taken to was a further 20 minutes away. Making the whole thing more stressful in the morning... and of course still raining so no taxis.
I have to stress the guy was very apologetic and swiftly put it right. I am certain they will ensure this doesn’t happen again, but I just feel I should mention it on here for other travellers to be aware of.
Nice n Convenient Place

We had a reservation for 1 night.
The guy responsible of the apartments, was very nice and waited for us to arrive outside of the apartment.
For the price we paied (around 60€) I think it was just perfect. Well situated (5 min walking from the subway).
The apartment was big, with confortable bed, amenities in the bathroom, tv, and kitchen.
Quiet at night (important).

We stayed 5 nights in early March 2018. In apartment "F" ( there is more than one, each with different room sizes and beds.)
Our flight was delayed by over 4 hours, and we arrived at the apartment very, very late. Past the latest check in time of 7pm. Mr Alessandro was very kind to wait for us and brief us on the facilities, etc. Thanks Alessandro!! :)
It is very near the train station ( not the same as subway station which is underground) Milan Porta Garibaldi. If you are lucky, the train from Malpensa Airport ( the Malpensa Express) might stop at platform #20 and you will be able to wheel your luggage all the way to the apartment! its just under 250meters.
The apartment is spacious in terms of floor area with very good ceiling lighting and also bedside lamps. There is plenty of closet space. It has lots of windows and also good black out curtains. TV is cable with more than 20 channels.... all in Italian. But you can navigate the Samsung TV menu to have the language changed to English.
( most movies are from the USA and dubbed over in Italian ) No international news channel like BBC or CNN.
The water pressure in the shower ( hosed) is very good, but there is no shelf space for shampoo, etc. ( just leave them on the shower tray floor ). Complimentary shampoo, conditioners supplied.. but I did not use them. Toilet has a heated towel rail. There is a wall mounted air conditioner ( for summer ) and the entire apartment is heated too. ( it can be turned off )
There is a fully functional gas stove top and oven. No microwave, no toaster. There is complimentary coffee/tea and also an expresso machine which uses coffee pods.
An electric kettle and a mini fridge ( with 2 small bottles of mineral water ( complimentary). No washing machine!!
The bed is slightly larger than a queen and 3 pillows. No extras.
There are power outlets on either side of the bed.
Typical European housing, there is a very large wooden door at the street entrance that leads into a small courtyard. The large wooden door st street level is usually left wide open during the day until around 7 or 8pm when they are shut. You would need a key to enter. Within this courtyard there are several buildings with residences. Isola apartments occupies one of these. As you enter the courtyard, Isola apartments is located on the diagonal left. Here is another door that requires a key to unlock.
There are several apartments on each floor. I stayed in the one at the top of the first flight of stairs, about 12 steps up. There are no lifts, so you'll have to haul your luggage up. In terms of security, its good!
It very well located. The surface train station Milan Porta Garibaldi is one stop away from Milan Centrale on the Malpensa Express. It is also where you can catch a train to Como ( station is called Como St Giovanni ) Lake
The subway also provides easy travel between sights.. just buy a 2 day pass ( from Trenord ) or 3 day pass ( from ATM- that is Milan's subway company that manages the system ) both ticket offices are located within the underground at Milan Porta Garibaldi.
Plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, mostly Italian cuisine. Its a very local area and not touristy. There is a Carrefour Express within 5min walk, flat ground. Also a local supermarket called Simply. Lots of mom & pop shops. A really good seafood restaurant called Pesciolone is just 5mins walk away. One laundry shop is nearby, about 2 streets away. Be aware that Italians have different work hours especially retail businesses. They are open as early as 8am, but will close by 12noon and reopen at 3pm till 7pm. If you want to send clothes for laundry there are no self laundromats nearby. Each pair of pants / jeans starts from EURO 4.50.
Have a great time !
