We spent 2 nights here in Nov 2021 ... the rooms are an exact copy and paste of your standard boring hotel room that you find everywhere in the US, apart from the fact that you could actually open the window properly. No shower, only a bath tub with shower ... not very European. Dinner on first evening was very meagre .. it looked like they had almost run out of food and were trying to share the little food that they had between the guests. Second evening was OK but certainly not memorable. Staff seemed very worried about making a mistake and quite nervous. They were however helpfull when we needed to get our wet clothed tried ... they organized a tumble drier for us. Breakfast OK Room for bikes easy to access with rail for E-Bikes. For the price just about OK ... would not like to be then in the busy season. Will not be back .. sorry
4 stars might be a little over rated.

My girlfriend and myself stayed in Monschau for valentine. Very nice location, also during this period. I booked the Michel and Friends hotel, which is a little bit outside the town. I also booked it because of the indoor swimming pool. I cannot claim it was a bad hotel, but I have been travelling for business around the world for many years and hereby some areas of improvement - minimum what most 4 * hotels have. - The hotel room was clean but old and could do with some painting and new furniture. The beds have had their best time and should be replaced. - No soap or any other complimentary bath room items. - Upon arrival, we wanted to have a drink in the lobby bar, but we waited for 20 minutes before somebody showed up to take the order. - Value for money wise, the evening buffet for 20 € pp was very poor. Very Limited choices. - Breakfast buffet should have some croissants as well. - Lobby bar only opens at 3 pm which should be much earlier for lunch & coffee as well. There is only 1 bar in the hotel. Brgds, RW.

We stay here with Edwards coaches as a package deal. And found the food disgusting /cold and little choice. As for xmas dinner forget the roast dinner. Can sum it up in a few words . It all came from tins . When we complained to Edwards coaches and after many emails they issued a goodwill gesture and travel voucher 5% of cost (put into bank before ask 1st) We disgree with this as they havent full address all the problems that arised. To cut the story short . Because they paid goodwill Edwards coaches have said They wash their hands and close the complaint

I went to this hotel for Christmas via a kirbys coach. The room had a comfortable bed and the bathroom a powerful shower. The food was buffet style and generally of a good standard. The low mark is due to the fact that the room heating did not work, was reported to reception three times and nothing happened. I will probably not stay again.
Christmas in Monschau

Annette, her husband the chef, and lovely staff couldn't have done more to make our stay at Christmas as wonderful as the beautiful medieval town 5mins down the road. We travelled with Kirbys Coaches from Essex, luckily we hadn't been told all the surprises of the holiday. The mist and drizzle on some days couldn't dampen our spirits, as inside such a warm welcome put us at ease, from gluhwein, printen (Aachen) biscuits, and lots of chocolate edible and drinkable. Everyone was smiling, extra effort especially for a British Christmas Day Lunch with all the trimmings, had us dashing for a swim in the pool to burn off some of the extra calories, as that was 3 hearty meals in one day!!!! Such a charming town too, including the fort and castle, we will definitely be returning, danke shoen
