Heart healing by the sea

I was suffering from the sudden loss of my mother. My husband knows that my heart seems to be healed by water. I enjoyed my morning walks as the sun came up. I felt very peaceful and safe walking around the property by myself. We will definitely be back!

This trip was for our 4 year anniversary. It was our first time booking a resort for vacation. We must say that Sandals Royal Caribbean Montego Bay more than exceeded our expectations! The resort was exceptionally clean. The staff was professional and friendly. Our butlers Roy and Steve made the experience even more enjoyable. They were professional, attentive, resourceful and one of the reasons have booked Sandals for next year. We would recommend this resort for any occasion!

Jack, Akaine, Karon, Takesha,Tanya, Rohan, Richard (bartender) are amazing!!! Each of them made our stay extraordinary! Jack and Akaine and Karon went out of their way to help us. We visited the spa twice during our stay because of how seamless Karon made the experience.

I gave this resort 5 stars last year but after this trip we will never go back to Royal Caribbean.
After receiving our luggage my husband and I went to the club lounge to bring school supplies we bought for packing for a purpose. When the club employee returned my luggage, he asked us if we wanted to buy cocaine. Several employees throughout our stay asked us if we wanted to purchase cocaine. I have a medical card and do not mind a little green but it blew me away to be offered hard drugs.
My friends sent me a cake, balloons, and a card for my birthday. Our butler Akine acted like all these things were from him. I never received the card and only found out about this when my friends asked me the next day if I ever got the things they purchased. This is a form of stealing and I am very disappointed. Akine was also incredibly rude to my husband and I most of the trip, we actually planned our days to have as little contact as possible when we knew he was on duty. We tip our butlers anywhere between $40-$100 a day each and we do it at the end of our trip with a nice thank you card. I should not have to tip upfront to get good service.
Please note: Our other butler Jack was AMAZING and he single handedly saved our trip and that is without knowing what his tip will be. Jack literally has passion for his guests and goes above and beyond. If it were not for Jack, I am not sure we would have stayed the entire trip. Please recognize Jack for his hard and dedicated work, he is one of those employees that you never want to lose.
We had room PH during the first part of our stay and we knew it was closer to the entertainment so we expected noise. Also the noise was tolerable and understandable. When we switched rooms to GBT we were looking forward to being a bit further away from the entertainment. They had an evening wedding on our first night in the GBT room and the music was so loud we could not even watch our own TV, the entertainment does not even play their music that loud. The bass was vibrating in our room. The wedding was in the courtyard and the next day many guests were complaining how loud it was because again the entertainment music was not even that loud. Also no one was even dancing, it was insane.
Beach Chairs - One of the perks of paying for a butler room are beach chair reservations, especially due to the Royal Caribbean's small size. Guests without butlers go to the beach the night prior and take up all the good chairs. So the butler guest get stuck with "scraps" for a lack of a better term. I will say once we mentioned our frustration it seemed like the butlers took back control and it was easier to get shady spots. All day you heard people complaining about beach chairs.
Staff at Bombay for Breakfast - The breakfast staff at Bombay were very rude. The gentleman wearing a mustard yellow shirt (do not recall his name) was very rude to my husband. My husband held out his hand per request for sanitizer and the guy rudely told him no, skipped him and gave me some first. It was very strange and uncomfortable. We chalked it up to him having a bad morning but when we went back a few days later he ignored us and we stood waiting to be seated in a basically empty restaurant, so we left because he made it clear we were not welcome there.
LaTova Host - Our first night we went to La Tova and the hostess made a rude comment. We were only at the resort for maybe 4 hours and when we gave her our name she looked at us and yelled "No Fighting". I have no idea what she meant by that but it made us both uncomfortable as people were staring at us like we had been fighting or something. When I asked Akine, our rude butler, what she meant by that, he just laughed and walked away. I can assure you, my husband and I have never had an argument at sandals or any public place for that matter. We were so uncomfortable we barely ate and ended up just leaving and went back to our room.
Jerk Shack - The staff was beyond rude and the food was not good. Several couples including us stood in line waiting to place an order. An incredibly rude woman comes out of nowhere and tells us all to sit. We sat and waited even more. When they finally started taking orders they made everyone feel like we were a burden, many of the guests were upset at the treatment. They took our order first but for some reason we were last to be served.
Our last full day we spent the entire time on the beach and around 5PM the lifeguards started cleaning up the beach, they were raking under our beach chairs, took my water bottle that I was still drinking and almost raked my husband's foot. We always clean our spot when we leave, including the beach towels we use. We could not understand why they were doing this. They basically forced us to move and made it clear that we were in their way.
This is not the Royal Caribbean we fell in love with and we spoke to several guest who felt the same way.
