Terrible Experience - Not ready for crowded events

I selected this hotel based on my previous Holiday Inn experiences and it was very disappointing: 1) the train wakes you up every hour 2) Staff with attitude 3) This was the official hotel for a college event that I attended with my kids and it looked to me that they were not prepared to work at full capacity 4) The facilities are unproperly cleaned, stained sheets and towels 5) They have nice balconies but the window/door didn’t work 6) We required to use the washer and dryer machines they have only one and it was broken. 7) I have experienced the “quick breakfast” that the Holiday Inn express offers, and this was far below expectations, getting a single fork got forever, the staff with attitude were just running around trying to keep the tables as cleaned as possible without paying attention to the customers at all. I understand the concept of business class hotel (I have status in ICHG) and this was below expectations. I have personally written my concern to the ICHG chain and I am sure beign a Holiday Inn they will do something about it. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

older hotel kept up nice. staff great. morning breakfast wonderful. had a great server. great choices of food. pool looks good pretty quiet considering location and how old the building is. parking is great.
Good hotel, good price/quality relation.

Good hotel for a work travel, the rooms are fine, the service is fine too. There's not a good place to walk around, as it's in front of a highly traffic avenue, but the place is not good enough to walk. During my stay, the restaurante was closed for two days without any notice. So when I've arrived to the hotel after a high intense work day the restaurante was closed. I've call to the front desk and they told me that the restaurant was close, no explanation and no options. I think that they had to send a notice to the guest just as a respectful action as the surprise are not good when we talk about hotel services. The rest of the stay was goo.

We live 3 hours away, so it was a last minute thing. The hotel is very well located between Monterrey and San Pedro. In a walking distance there are a few restaurants and a mall (15 min walk) . I think is better if you have a car though. Room was clean and spacious. I give it 4 stars for 2 things. My sink was damaged and water would stay there, no biggie for a night ( I did not told front desk, as I was mainly out for the day) and elevators had an electric smell but they work fine. I would certainly stay here again.
