Fabiana is an awesome front end staff just loved her energy and her bubbly personality she spoke English bonus when you don’t speak Spanish! I had a lovely stay for 49 nights! The rooftop pool and bar was so nice! The view was spectacular

Good location, in Punta Carretas, just a few blocs from the ramblas and within walk-in range with restaurants and shopping places. Large rooms, with very good beds. Average breakfast, with few options. The price was very good. The check in experience was not very good, they didn't find the reservation, which was made directly... At the check out, they forgot that we had payed a guarantee of 20% of the stay, and charged the full amount, and had to refund it... Over all very good option in Montevideo.

Even though the location is semi-good, I found the rooms to be old fashioned and it lacked light during the night. The bathroom had a strange smell. I found the staff uninterested in the guests and the breakfast wasn’t always fresh. Would not come back here nor recommend it.

First and foremost, I must say that the rooms and the breakfast on offer are fantastic. The tragedy for me was the attitude of the staff. The front desk and reception staff are very cold and did not make me feel welcome form the get go. Having booked for three nights, I got a call on the first day from reception saying that I had exceeded my check-out time and will be charged and any further nights I wanted to stay had been increased!!! I had to go downstairs, with all my check-in and personal details to show proof (to the same member of staff who checked us in!) that I had made a three-night booking. After realising they had made a mistake and keeping me waiting for 20 minutes, I was handed back my details with no apology and blanked being told to 'go back to your room'. Also, there was one morning when I asked if I could get some hot water for my flask, only to be told by staff to go the bathroom tap as they had 'run out' of hot water... The spa was also out of order during my stay and the rest of facilities very dirty considering it was peak summertime. The internet connection was also terrible. Left hugely disappointed.
Problem with staff

I do not have any particular problem with the room itself but some of the staff attitude, in particular the male staff who was on duty on the morning of 20th and 21st of November. Out travel agency arranged for a car pickup from the bus terminal through the hotel. On arrival at the hotel, the taxi driver told us to pay him directly rather than to the hotel because it would be cheaper. He charged us USD$33 for less than 20mins ride, the normal price would have been around USD$5 if he had not conned us. So we spoke to the hotel in the hope that they could catch the driver and make a refund to us but they totally denied the car was arranged by them, even claimed they do not do pickups from bus terminal but the airport. I almost believed them until on the day we checked out, one of the other male staff inadvertently requested payment for the taxi transfer. The staff we spoke to earlier quickly interfered (and spoke to him in his language so that we wouldn't understand) to not pursue it. When we challenged the staff why we were told differently previously by them, suddenly they did not understand English and ducking our questions with some stupid unrelated answers. Those male staff were shifty and unhelpful. I can only guess they are colluding with the taxi company to cheat their clients. So be careful if you arrange airport or bus terminal tranfer with this hotel, don't get conned like us!
