Recently stayed three nights at the property. The hotel is within walking distance to the Gay Village and other nightlife options, which is ideal since other options recently closed. It is also perfect for the 747 Bus and several Metro routes. Compared to other hotels in Montreal, COVID protocols at Fairfield Suites differ, as previously mentioned in other reviews: Parking costs $30 per night and is self-parking (no valet). Cheaper options are available nearby. Daily housekeeping does not service guest rooms when occupied, and new towels, toiletries, etc., are not provided unless requested. Garbage is also not removed. Guests are instructed to leave their dirty towels and garbage in the hallway due to the restricted housekeeping. Daily brown bag breakfast provided as the on-site restaurant is still closed. While this is a nice touch, the sugar content of the food is high and does not include basics such as water or coffee. It would be nice if guests provided options to pick up grab and go coffee and water. Overall we would stay at this property again when visiting Montreal.
Refused to Honor Reservation-Doubled Price

This hotel sent a notice weeks after I’d booked my room informing me that they would not honor my booked rate, that they were in fact more than doubling the rate, and requiring me to pay that inflated social event months ahead of time. Apparently, this is well within Marriott’s regular business practice. I’ve had a great time staying in other Marriott locations over 75 nights this year alone, but now I’ll be taking my business elsewhere. Very upset at being cast aside as they pulled the rug out from under a guest to make more off my room.

Spent three nights in September and had an excellent stay. The manager Naz was super helpful, the room was very comfortable and I love a hotel room with a walk in shower. They did their best with the bagged breakfast - it was a lot of food and quite adequate. Walkable to the water front and excellent access to public transportation including the 747 from the airport
Worst stay ever!!!

The valet driver smashed my brand new 2022 vehicle. They were FORCED to refund our stay, did not want to pay for the damages. Forced me to go through insurance and will not provided their insurance information. Only stay here if you want stress, even the staff isn’t kind.

With two hours notice the water was shut off in the hotel for 6 hours without offering an alternative for showering, cleaning, flushing the toilet!! When I approached the front desk they were rude and offered me a small bottle of water!? They said it was an 'emergency' to repair something in the hotel but that's NOT MY PROBLEM! Water is a basic amenity. I reached out to Marriott customer service 14 days ago and they have not responded. Looks like Marriott is going to lose a long-time faithful customer.
