Superb Hotel, Perfect Location

The reception staff are exceptional! I felt welcomed, they were efficient, and were very helpful. They have several levels of accommodation. We had a two bed kitchenette unit which was impeccable. There was enough to prepare light meals with a two burner cook top, microwave, fridge, and dishwasher. The only thing that I would have preferred would be a table rather than a desk. The beds were heavenly. The bathroom was great other than another towel rack would have been handy. The roof top hot tubes is a great feature. It is amazing value for the money.

We stayed here about 1 month ago and absolutely loved the amenities this place had to offer. Very close to everything including restaurants, grocery/liquor stores, Shoppers, etc. The hot tubs on the roof were great and we used them almost every night, even in the snow. We had a private room with our own bathroom which also had a kitchenette. It was very modern and clean. The cafe is also very good. The bar had lots of events going on in the evenings including comedy shows. Wouldn't hesitate to return here on my next trip to Montreal!
Huge fail with the basics

This hotel is great aesthetically, on the surface, but when you get down to the basics, I would not stay again. My bed wasn't made (I had to put the fitted sheet on myself, and then regular sheet). The pillow was way too thick and hard and lifted my head too high, so I slept without a pillow. Reception didn't have any alternatives. Housekeeping didn't check to see that I already had a towel and kept giving me new towels, so I had 4 by the end of my short stay. And the towel left so much lint on me after my shower that when I dried off, it looked like it snowed on my body. It was pretty gross. I would have had to re-wash my hair if I had dried it with the towel! Shower takes 10 minutes to get hot. Ear plugs a MUST if near Reception since the room is right above the bar and you can hear and feel the music and loud voices until late hours.

For some trips we like to shoot for luxury and on others our goal is to find a great value. That’s what we looked for in selecting M Montréal. It’s a hostel so the atmosphere was no surprise. Located within easy walking distance from the bus station, this is a clean well run hostel. As part of check-in the staff will take you on a tour of the facility which includes a bar downstairs, laundry room, kitchen, jacuzzi on the roof, a small coffee bar, etc. We had booked one of the private rooms so we didn’t take the full tour. Our room was large and included a very comfortable king size bed, very nice kitchen area, desk, TV, sofa and chair. The bathroom was really nice With a big tub and good hot shower. There is free WiFi which turned out to be very important as we could not seem to get cellular service on a consistent basis. The location is a party area with an underground disco about a block away. Expect to find vomit on the sidewalks. I recommend this hotel for travelers looking for clean cheap accommodations. I would not recommend for children.
Great Hostel, Petty Good Location

I followed a couple of websites and booked a king room here for/me and my wife. Whilst in/general it had the feel/of a hostel our king room was excellent, it had a great bed, a basic kitchen and a bath, very important to my wife. The place is positioned at he edges of the village and red light district but didn’t feel scary at all. Plenty of shops nearby for drinks and food and excellent Metro links with very friendly and helpful staff.
