Decidimos quedarnos en Motueka para visitar durante varios días la zona de Abel Tasman. Este backpackers tiene una relación calidad precio bastante interesante. Tiene una cocina muy amplia y una zona ajardinada donde se puede acampar y hacer bbq. Tiene diferentes tipos de habitaciones, equipadas de forma muy sencilla. Las camas eran cómodas. Los baños son mixtos, estando bastante limpios. La pareja que lleva el negocio estaban muy atentos. Tiene zona de parking. Solo se podía pagar en metálicos las habitaciones

Lo elegimos para movernos por la zona de Abel Tasman para lo que tiene una ubicación excelente. El ambiente es muy agradable. El personal te presta ayuda para todo y siempre con una sonrisa. La cocina es muy grande y completa. La zona del patio es muy agradable para charlar, leer, trabajar con internet... El billar es estupendo si vas con amigos o para conocer gente nueva. Lo mejor sin duda es el personal.

The people who stayed at the Hostel made my time really good, but I cannot say the same from the owners. The facilities are always dirty, bathrooms, kitchen, especially rooms, I always vacuumed and did my bed by myself every week in the room and also put rubbish bag and fragance because they never doing them work. Everytime I ask for cleaning my room, I had to do it by myself. They don't know how to manage a hostel. They also don't allow people who stayed before in the accommodation to visit us after they left.

The place has a distinct dampness issue and smells of mould and is stuffy. Communal areas such as the showers were clean. Beds are comfortable enough, but happy we only booked one night given the smell.

I stayed at Happy Apple Backpackers for about 2 months and I wholeheartedly enjoyed my stay. The hostel itself is great. The facilities are clean (except when the inhabitants don’t clean up after themselves, but that’s not the owners fault) and - with a nice lounge complete with a poolroom and a fireplace, a huuge chilling area with couches, a massive backyard with several tables, an outside gym, a volleyball net and tabletennis - there’s really always something to do or somewhere to go if you want some alone time. It’s definitely not the craziest party hostel I’ve seen either, there’s been the occasional loud-ish night but mostly people are very considerate. It’s very clear that the owner Kelly really likes her job and does it with pride (which she should, she’s doing an excellent job), it radiates through the atmosphere of the hostel. 10/10, thank you for the last couple of months Kelly.
