Didn't honor their early check-in
Opinión escrita el 1 de enero de 2022
I work in the local hospital on overnights and the desk clerk didn't honor the early check-in that I had called and requested due to a snowstorm. Or refund my money. I will not recommend this chain ever again and especially not this particular hotel.

STOP! Turn around! Don't stay here! Worst hotel ever!

We originally booked in Burlington but changed locations last minute. We wanted to drop off luggage before visiting family. The place seemed deserted and we were given a room on the first floor. On entering the room, we noticed a strong musty smell like a dank basement. We were in a hurry and thought maybe it was just the AC so I turned it off and we left. On returning later that evening, the smell permeated the entire room. Then we noticed other flaws. The curtains above the AC were filthy. I wash cloth was dirty. The tub had a bit of a ring in it and hair. The wall paper was peeling, carpet frayed and stained, furniture chipped and worn and the air besides being musty was quite humid. There was no facial tissue and when I asked that same clerk at the front desk she said "it's one of the things we're out of. He put an order in but things haven't come in." Mind you, this hotel sits across the street from a Super Walmart. The towels and bed linens were paper thin. When I inquired about the fitness center, I was told it was inside the pool area and the pool was closed and, she didn't have a key. The desk clerk was more about explaining their problems than helping guests. In the morning, we noticed no one in the breakfast area and worse yet, little food to choose from. There was coffee or water, no juice. Eggs that were crusted over and sausage. Packaged muffins which were stale. A waffle machine and some bread with a toaster. That's it. We just wanted to get out of there and if hadn't been so late when we returned the night before, we would have tried to find some place else to stay. On checkout there was a sign that stated: "Leave your keys on the counter, no further assistance is necessary." Unbelievable! I've traveled for work and pleasure and this was one of if not the worst experience I've ever had. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Do not stay here, or for that matter, any motel in Mt Pleasant, Iowa

Driveway cement breaking up. Outside of front entrance unappealing; no trash can. Doors not automatic. Greeting at counter not friendly. Pool closed. Room okay. Stand in ankle deep water when showering. Towels do not dry you off...THEY DO NOT DRY YOU OFF. Had to ask for room service every day. Dirty blanket comforter never changed. Breakfast: no juice, small food selection, food ran out and took a while to replace. Elevator SLOW. Other motels in Mt Pleasant aren’t much better.

Unclean... especially during these times!

We were a late night arrival. We chose this Quality Inn rather than the neighboring hotel. We found numerous items in the floor. Items from candy to change. The floor had obviously not been vacuumed. I placed a a drink in the refrigerator to find a partially drunk soda left in there from a previous guest. We were quite disappointed especially considering the profession of COVID precautions. It was definitely unnerving. We will definitely choose the neighboring hotel on our next trip.

Not up to COVID-19 scratch

Staffer who checked us in wasn’t wearing a mask, and when asked about it, said that there are no cases in the area, that he got tested two weeks ago, and that he feels fine. (Henry County reports 99 daily cases per 100,000. “Dangerously high levels” according to Covid ActNow” ). No plexiglass screen either and no contactless check-in. Room was supposedly disinfected, but a filthy nightstand didn’t give us much peace of mind. Wifi code on the key-card envelope was illegible, and the room phone was inoperative. Wasn’t going to go down and talk to the staffer again. So, no wifi for us. Why 2 stars, well because otherwise the room was OK. Can’t remember having had such a bad hotel experience before, and we use hotels all the time.
