Great Hotel, Nice Location, Excellent Staff
it is easy to see why this is the #1 place in this city. Our room was large and so was the bathroom. The room was very quiet and had several mirrors. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. We had breakfast in a bag which we ate in our room. It may not the the cheapest place here but it was worth it. We had a great sleep. Highly recommend.
Very pleasant oasis in the midst of the arid, wide-open Idaho terrain
This property served us (a couple, no kids) well for its purpose of an overnight stay while heading eastbound en route to Yellowstone via Craters of the Moon National Monument. We could have stayed in Boise, but figured going a little bit farther (an extra 45 minutes) to Mountain Home would give us a head start on the next day. Anyway, it was a relatively brief stay and we did not have time to enjoy the amenities. But, the stay was most pleasant: friendly and competent staff, clean room, quiet, good bed. I also appreciate that it is easy on/ easy off of Interstate 90. There are plenty of fast food and casual restaurants nearby including some within walking distance. TripAdvisor forbids mentioning specific businesses in reviews, but I'll say that less than a mile away is a very large location of a highly familiar Arkansas-based retail chain selling everybody a traveler could possibly need. One other small detail that I appreciate: the in-room refrigerator has a small freezer slot that is great for re-freezing ice packs. This stay was in August 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. Appropriate and sensible Covid-19 policies were in place; employees were masked; guests were also required to wear masks and compliance seemed to be 100%. Overall, I'd say this location holds true to what you would expect from the Hampton Inn brand and represents that brand well. Unless you are unreasonably picky, I can't think of any reason not to stay here.
Nice Stop
This was one of our non-pre-booked hotel stops, as we had decided to see how long we felt like driving before stopping for the night. We ended up in Mountain Home, Idaho when we were ready to call it a night. Of the very few hotel choices in town, we decided to stay at the Hampton Inn & Suites. It’s a bit pricier than our typical overnight stop, especially for a mid-week night, but was also a bit nicer. The check-in clerk was extremely friendly and welcoming as we arrived fairly late at night. She was able to accommodate our desire for a top floor room (we had been woken up way earlier than we wanted to be due to someone stomping around above us at one of our previous hotel stays earlier on our road trip). Our room was immaculately clean and very comfortable. The property was in good shape. Overall, a nice place to stop.
No Complaints!
The Hampton Inn is an easy off I-84 and is close to gas stations and several restaurants. There is ample free parking and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It's an average HI in terms of facility. We've stayed in nicer but certainly nothing major wrong with this one. Our room was fairly small but OK for storage. I prefer shower stalls; this was the shower in the tub. Due to Covid the breakfast was served in to-go bags but it was ample. We ate dinner at Wingers, a short walk, and I would recommend it. It has the burgers and wings that you would expect but I had excellent salmon and they have assorted entrees and entree salads.
