Disappointed

We stay two nights with Deluxe room. We arrived late on the first found that the room cleanliness was so.. bad one slipper in the clothes with super dirty and some spiders net on it. Next day during shower engineering were blocked water to do something on working without any information to guest, Staff ask to wait for one hour then totally water come very dirty and sticky on skin when touching to water we can not even brush teeth, then we use drinking water. Staff were nice talking but hotel totally dead they need to changes room amenities. Cushion dirty , dirty and damaged towels, dirty slipper, dusty room.

What you see is not what you get

I stayed here for 4 days 3 nights. They marketed it with beautifully edited photographs to overstate the actual conditions. It’s basically a low end 3 stars. The rooms are bare with tiled floors. TV reception is bad and if your window faces the road, it’s noisy. The verandah was unkempt and dirty exposed to elements. No toothbrush, toothpaste and body lotion. Dont bother to ask. I asked to hv a taxi ready the night before my departure. They charged me B200 (whereas i paid only B160) from the airport! The next day, it was not a taxi but a utility jeepny meant for many (like a mini bus). I was angry and the staff on duty was trying to blame the nightshift lady who took my request! He was dishonest but i had no choice but to get to the airport! I didn’t hv a good experience. Oh, another thing..... the breakfast spread is nothing to shout about

Arranged by Bamboo Tours as a base in Chiang Mai

Definitely not a 5* hotel but it had all the basics and essentials required. 1st Room - Bed was comfy, shower was adequate, air-conditioning worked, no view, considerable noise from below as 'karaoke night!' - I am guessing!! (2nd floor). Suitcases were stored away until we returned from elephant camp. 2nd Room - As above but air-conditioning was rubbish, noisy due to facing to the front of hotel - traffic. Tired room, larger than first room but in need of some TLC. (3rd floor). Breakfast - plentiful. Bread to toast, noodles, cold eggs, rice and local food, fruit was great, tea & coffee too watered down. Friendly staff. Overall a clean but tired hotel. Pool tiny and enclosed (photos exaggerate size!). Close to a few restaurants but be careful, walking to them is a nightmare! Traffic is awful! Locals do not speak english. Not a personal choice but adequate for a few nights stay. Spruced up on our last day as they were expecting a visit from a cousin of the royal family!

Impressive looking hotel in need of upgrading

This appears to be a popular hotel for holding functions, we stayed for 4 nights. Breakfast is served as early as 6 am, convenient for those catching early morning flight. Breakfast choices are limited. Location is good as a lot of eating places and market are within walking distance. Price of food in hotel is comparable with street shops, during dinner there is flow of songs. We stayed on the 6th floor, the water pressure was often very low, a larger booster pump is badly needed, this will also help to stop sudden gush of hot water. the TV channels provided are plenty, however English channels are limited. Hotel provided 2 bottled water each day, no tea or coffee bags though a kettle was provided. Due to traffic, noise level was a little bit high for good night sleep, sound insulation could be improved. We booked a taxi from hotel to airport, was charged 300 baht for 3 persons in a minibus not a Taxi we expected, a Grab ride at that time would be around 200 baht.

Bamboo tours chang mai base

Not the best hotel but by far not the worst. Shared room was big enough, basic amenities if slightly "used" were ok. Breakfast was plentiful and catering for a wide variety of tastes. Staff were helpful and friendly. Within easy reach of the old town which is a must see. Plenty of shops restaurants and massage places nearby. Had laundry done nearby as cheaper than hotel. Ok for a short trip but if this hadn't been booked by tour company probably would/could have found better.
