More about the hotel
Great Location / Friendly Staff / Hotel Needs Updated
Looking for an affordable & conveniently located hotel - I found this Hampton Inn to fit the bill. Staff is super friendly and efficient. Hotel meets COVID cleanliness guidelines. It’s definitely a value for your hard earned dollars. Breakfast was safely served by front desk staff - after they sanitized hands & placed on gloves. Concerns: hotel needs updates. My room had dates, soiled & scratched furniture. Light fixtures did not work. Hair dryer labels were worn and unable to be read. Additionally, the rooms are not as soundproof as I would desire. I could easily hear doors slamming & those walking on floor above. Despite this - this a currently a great value for your dollars. I would however recommend if staying here to get room on top floor at end of hall - away from other guests (to avoid the noises).
Very solid hotel
The front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming and the room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. It was very quiet and we had everything we needed plus some. The wifi was very strong and we had a room with a huge jacuzzi bathtub. With the Coronavirus, their breakfast wasn't nearly as extensive as normal but was still good. Definitely a place to consider when in the area.
Great Stay!
Hampton is always our go to for overnight stays. This one did not disappoint. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was great! Front desk provided toiletries if you forgot anything. Due to Covid restrictions the continental breakfast was slightly modified. They provided prepackaged grab and go breakfast bags which were a great choice if you didn’t want to choose from the buffet items. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Very convenient to numerous restaurants. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Muncie.
Should lose the Hampton brand name
First - the toilet: The chain came loose on the float in the toilet. It was 10PM when we got to our room and I knew the SOLE (young) person in the hotel wasn't going to know how to fix it. So I did. Not a pleasant first experience upon arrival. Second - the bed. WORST mattress ever. I woke up multiple times during the night in pain, and had a sore back all day Saturday. Third - the room was filthy. The hallway from the (broken) elevator was marked with black stains all over the carpet. Similar stains in our room. The walls were marked up from what appears to be anything from bicycle tire marks to just years of people throwing shoes or suitcases at the wall. The caulking was extremely sloppy. There was mold just covered up by caulk. A previous leak above shower was slathered with caulk. The shower head was rusty. There was some kind of spill or something all over the "desk" chair. I could go on. And you should to, to the next hotel ...
Staff was great, our room had a BED BUG.
The room was in need of deep cleaning but it was late when we checked in. Our plan was to ask for the room to be cleaned the next morning. When we were getting ready for bed my son found a large BED BUG on his pillow. We brought it to the attention of the front desk. They said it was not a bed bug due to the large size. When I showed a google picture to compare, I was asked if I wanted a new room. We fled from the hotel and asked the manager to call us in the morning. There never was any attempt to contact us.
