Unique Hotel Rooms and Close to Main Train Station (Hauptbahnhof)
Reviewed 5 february, 2020
This was my first stay at this hotel and found that it was very conveniently located from the Hauptbahnhof (Main Train Station) as it was an easy walk even with lot's of luggage. The inner rooms are very quiet and each room has a "forest theme" but with very nice lighting and with separate shower and toilet area. For the size of the room, it was very well laid out. The only negative feature was that the desk area was about the size of an airplane table tray but I did manage to do a lot of my work as the seating area was very comfortable. The breakfast is also good and is next to the inner courtyard (which I believe they open up during the warmer seasons).
Good option for business travel

I stayed at Cocoon Stachus for a business trip and was pleased with the very central location. Check in and check out were fast and without any complications. Staff were great (even when I returned slightly drunk from Oktoberfest and kept asking them to give me the Gingerbread heart that was hanging on the wall for decoration, they remained perfectly calm and suggested in a very friendly manner that I should go to sleep. :D). The breakfast buffet could have been more varied but was fine nonetheless. My room was clean, but I could hear some noise from the street during the night. The hotel's design concept didn't meet my taste and I didn't like the fact that the bathroom wasn't clearly separated from the bedroom (washing basin in the room, one door to either cover the toilet or the shower). I wouldn't have chosen this hotel for private vacation but since that is purely based on my subjective design preference and I was otherwise pleased with the cleanliness and services, I would recommend the hotel.

Based on recent reviews we were apprehensive about visiting. There was absolutely nothing to worry about. We had a great time, hotel is a couple of minutes walk from central station that allows visitors to reach anywhere in this great city with the excellent public transport system. Greeted nicely on arrival and given our room on 6th floor which I requested as a quiet room so this was honoured. Had a few drinks from bottle bar available and breakfast next morning too was plentiful if a tad expensive imo. Room was quirky but loved it!Yes I can understand people’s concerns re shower but after thirty years together in my situation this wasn’t an issue:) Bed was comfortable and shower itself is powerful. By the way there are sockets at bed, underneath locker areas. An added convenience would be a kettle,ya irish and most likely English/Scottish and Welsh love our cup of tea. Staff we met were friendly and room was cleaned each day. I can understand people’s concerns about the area but it’s literally a block and no one bothers you. I would have no hesitation returning here or recommending to family or friends and I don’t do that lightly.
Hotel at a good location

The hotel is located in a good location near Munich HBF and Karlsplatz (Stachus) subway. The hotel room which I stayed in was pretty small though. in addition, it was awkward that the sink was just in front of the bed and not in the toilet.
UPDATE ON PREVIOUS REVIEW BY ME THIS MONTH

I wrote a negative review previously(after a positive one written immediately after a 3 night stay from 14-17 August). The second negative review was basically down to a misunderstanding in relation to replies to e mails that were written about a double payment issue that is now resolved and in fact never actually occurred. So I apologise for the negative review and would like to thank Harold the hotel manager for his speedy response in relation to these issues. I can report therefore that this is an excellent hotel which I would recommend to potential future customers.
