Perfect stopover for the airport
I stayed here for one night so I could catch my flight the next day. The staff are friendly and accommodating and will help you out with most things. You get what you pay for, a tiny, clean, basic room with a bathroom, but hey for 26 Euros you can't complain. Not recommended for tall people. The room looked out into a kind of courtyard and directly in to other peoples' rooms! I didn't check out the surroundngs or the breakfast due to lack of time, but noticed the prices for drinks and breakfast were very cheap ( 2 Euros for a litre of beer and 2 Euros for breakfast!). I would recommend it for the sensational price and convenient location. I had no bad smoking experience, didnt bother to check if it was a non smoker tbh, kinda assumed that.
You get what you pay for
Website shows no pix of a 'single' bedroom because it's not big enough to stand in AND take a photo. Tiny. Actually a bit cramped, and with one or two annoyances: the 'headboard' digs into your back when trying to sit up; the reading lights didn't work; the view was (a light well) but the bed was comfy, everything in the bathroom worked, the hot water was almost instant and, whilst the bath is small, it's a bath. You get what you pay for. I didn't pay much but I'd say that, if you're on a budget, you could do worse. MUCH worse. When I say stuff is okay, I mean exactly that. Okay is not bad. (Got a new telly, too :o)
First stay, better than second stay!
I've stayed at this pension twice during the last few months. I had a nice clean room the first time I stayed here, but on my second trip, the room I was given was not so clean and stunk of stale tobacco. It was actually quite disgusting. I mentioned this to the lady running the pension. She said she would sort it out. I had to keep the window open all the time. Despite her attempts, the stale smell didn't abate for at least 4 days! They really shouldn't allow smoking in hotel rooms. Or at least have separate rooms for smokers and non smokers. On a positive note, the pension is very close to the sea front. It's also just a short drive to/from san javier airport.
Small and nice
I came here to Santiago de la Ribera for a week long break and decided to stay a K-Hito. The pension is small and it's neat and tidy but left a few things lacking. Firstly I seemed to be the only one staying there the first night and I was given a room with the window looking into the next door room. Second night that room was occupied and and me and the man there were trying not to make eye contact. All the rooms to the front had the shutters down for the week so it seemed no one else was there. I still can't figure out why a person especially after you payed you full bill first night can't be given a key to let oneself in. The bed was most comfortable but I kept hitting my head of two black lights just over a shelf that was 8 inches above the bed. I had a bike rented from the wonderful lads at Bay Bike Hire just up the road at Lo Pagan(check them out) an I was able to store it overnight down stairs, again that's a plus for K-Hito. Overall there are no bad things I could say about my stay, the location is great with great bars cafes and the like on the doorstep. The small bar right next door is one of the best in town. So maybe K-Hito will take my comments on board, I'm sure they are going to have a busy season, and why not, their prices are great, and here to the best of luck for Summer 2017. TomC
Old Spanish hospitality
This is an excellent place to stay for the traveller who is interested in exploring the area, great bus route to Cartagena and inland Murcia. But the hostess and her family are very hospitable and very accommodating (storing my bicycle in their garage at night and on hand to open it in the morning). As a long time single traveller I don't have any inhibitions about travelling alone but this pension was very welcoming and very clean and made my vacation one of the best. Thank you I wish I had more Español in order to fully convey my gratitude ...next time:)
