Excellent Hotel - Unprecedented Events
Reviewed 14 march, 2020
My husband and I visited the Hotel Nuvo between 8th - 11th March 2020. The hotel is well situated to take advantage of the rail links into central Naples. The welcome was warm and the surroundings excellent. All areas of the hotel were extremely clean and tidy and our room (203) was very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was tasty and plenty. Our visit was cut short due to the restrictions brought into force with the Coronavirus outbreak. I cannot praise the staff at the hotel enough. It was an extremely difficult time caused by an unprecedented set of circumstances but their professionalism, understanding and kindness was superb, they are indeed a credit to the hotel. We would have no hesitation in recommending others to stay at the Hotel Nuvo and we will be returning to finish our trip as soon as possible.
Lovely short break

We have recently returned from a 4 night break in Naples. The staff at the hotel were very welcoming and helped when trying to work out trains and how to get around . We didnt use the hotel driver as we were happy using the trains once we figured out how to use them. Breakfast was really good pleanty to eat it was continental with the usual cheese, meats, boiled and scrambled eggs , so many lo ely pastries to choose from aswell wich were all really lovely. The room we upgraded to a superior, room was very large with a balcony , tea making facilities in the room but no coffee again this is very common in Italy .shower was on the small side . Rooms cleaned every day and fresh sheets and towels . The only negative i can say was the room was very warm and having a balcony you had no window to open and being on a very busy main road it was far to noisy to have them opening during the night .air con was not on this may be due to being early in the season. Facilities all really good nice bar area drinks prices all about normal and not over priced. Area is typical Naples very run down with lots of graffiti but never once felt uncomfortable when walking around. All in all a very good stay and would recommend to anybody looking to explore Naples. We were at the hotel on the day everything changed with all of Italy being on lockdown. We just hope Italy recovers and the economy can get back on track .and wish everbody at the hotel our best and hope they can carry on doing what they do best .
Small friendly hotel

We stayed with a friend and our teen boys through easyJet Holidays. The hotel is small and friendly, the area felt safe though on a busy street with noise of the train/station we slept fine. Supermarket Conad across the road. The lounge/bar was a great place to relax in the evenings. I wish we'd used the lovely bikes (complete with front baskets and locks) but there are 3 bikes and there were 5 of us. The roof garden had amazing sunsets. We tried to get to Vesuvius on the first day but found the public transport system confusing as it's run by many different companies with different tickets for each at the machines. The hotel sells them only for the Cumana, they said. Even tourist info at Naples Central weren't very helpful as they said "Ercolano" when we needed Ercolano Scavi not Ercolano Portici which is on a different line! So it was much easier and only a little more expensive to ask Mr. Lucio to take us up Vesuvius the next day, plus he took us a scenic route which wouldn't have been possible by public transport. Perhaps if we'd been brave to ask at the "tabac" we could have found the elusive day ticket covering all public transport but I can see why tour guides are very popular!
