This is a monstrosity of a hotel, in fact it’s a visual overload. That being said once we had got through the first 24hrs and found our bearings it wasn’t so bad. The atrium gardens are beautiful and extremely well cared for. I found the Cascades area noisy and impersonal, difficult to sit, have a quiet drink and talk. The variety of shops is small and it’s all ridiculously expensive. We waited to eat at Jack Daniels (see separate review) had a drink at the outside bar near Fuse restaurant. Two drinks, a white wine and a whiskey cost $35. Very small poor on the wine throughout this resort. Room was clean not terribly spacious but adequate. Check in staff were friendly as were the Valet parking team ($40 per night to park). A big shoutout for the Bell Hop guys (apologizes if that’s not the correct name anymore) they were helpful, happy and a very nice welcome and fair well. This is very much a conference hotel, large and noisy. It’s an experience!! Couldn’t use any of the pools inside or out because of awful weather but they looked great.

Extremely great.The Garden atrium is beautiful.Soundwaves is fun for kids and kids at heart.This hotel can be a little pricey at times.In December,there are many holiday decorations and activities.Transportation is provided;there is a shuttle,but be aware it takes a little time for it to get there.I have been there many times and it is beautiful every time I go.

We stayed 4 nights during my wife’s MOMCon conference and enjoyed every day and night. This enormous resort resembles what could be the largest cruise ship filled with 3,000 rooms, four neighborhoods, all sorts of eateries, spa/fitness center, outdoor and indoor pools, shops, Sound Waves (indoor/outdoor water park), and a vast area for the convention center.

What an amazing resort! It’s huge, but expect to get lost! 😜 Kudos for the excellent signage throughout the resort to guide you. Loved the FREE pantries and cookies, set out after 9:00pm, in the Delta area eatery, every night. I guess leftover foods from the day. So that was a savings. My daughter and I enjoyed our little night boat ride. It was nice to see the resort light up at night. Nice water park! Easy to walk to the Grand Ole Opry and Mall. Great staff. Since no daily housekeeping, great to request for fresh linen and they pickup dirty linen once set outside the door.

My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary trip. Based on what we found on the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center's website, we believed that it would be an amazing experience. We purchased the package that included a room and access to the waterpark. When we were looking at the website, it said that if you arrived before the check-in time of 4:00 PM, you could have your luggage stored and go to the waterpark until check-in. When we arrived, it was hard to tell where to go and the resort is like a maze. The maps are hard to read and it is difficult to figure out if something is on a bottom or upper floor. There is also hardly any staff available throughout the hotel to ask questions. My wife and I carried our luggage to the water park, but we were informed that we could only store our luggage at the check-in counter (This was not explained on the website.) We then went all the way to the check-in counter to drop off our luggage. It was a little after 3:00 PM and we were told that we could go ahead and check-in if we wanted. We decided to do that and we told we could only have a hotel luggage cart if one of their staff assisted. I thought this was crazy and added a tip expense, but I did it anyway because my wife and I were both tired from going all over the resort with our luggage. It is also important to note that when we left the resort, we saw several people using the hotel luggage carts without resort staff. The waterpark; however, was amazing and exactly what we were looking for! Our first night we decided to got to the pizza place and the pizza was sub-par considering the price of a little over $20 for four slices and two cokes. When we sat down to eat, there was four women and two men who were completely and utterly drunk. They were swearing and making obscene hand gestures with several young children around. They were also spilling their alcoholic drinks all over the place (including the floor) and it was a horrible scene. There was no staff around to report this unruly behavior and ruined the dinner experience for both of us. As I have seen from other reviews, the dining times of the resort restaurants is horrible and I can confirm it. There were hardly any places open during lunch hours, so my wife and I had to leave the resort. We ended up at the Caney Fork River Valley Grille, which is right across the street, and it was amazing! Several shops also have weird hours if they are open at all. For an expensive resort, it was a little ridiculous that there was a slide in the water park closed and not many dining options. We had a wonderful trip overall, but were very disappointed in the service and ease of finding things in the resort. It is also ridiculous to charge $32 a day for parking when the parking lot is massive and is not close to the place you check in.
