we booked a river view with a balcony and we got a parking lot. nothing romantic for our wedding anniversary.

when we went to the hotel they lied and didn't tell us the room we booked was not what we were receiving. we were very disappointed. They refused to refund us at least the amount difference from the regular room to the river ... because they gave us a bigger room. we didn't care about the bigger room, we wanted the view, or we would have gone somewhere else. bad customer service. they never cleaned our room we kept having to ask.

So disappointed

We were extremely disappointed in this hotel. As Marriott rewards members, I always choose Courtyard hotels because they are normally well kept. This one is not. It’s old and nothing appears to have been done to update it. I paid $309 a night for a river view room. I could see the river and a construction trailer. It doesn’t really matter because you didn’t want to sit outside anyway because the chairs were old and ripped. The wallpaper and paint was peeling. The bathroom tiles are all cracked. The exhaust fan was covered in filth. The fixtures were old and stained. Some of the towels had hair on them. The bed is hard as a rock. I ordered a Starbucks drink and the young lady did not know how to make drinks. It was so sweet that I couldn’t drink it. Positive thing was that the staff was friendly.

Very disappointing

As stated in a previous review, the Marriott Courtyards appear to have gone seriously downhill. I don't know if Marriott just expanded too fast, but it's sad to see what was a very reliable chain suffering like this. We requested no feathers; the room was full of them. All right, that's always a problem but I had called twice, that morning and the day before, so we could check in and quickly see family without waiting for someone to make the time to call housekeeping. The front desk was very under-staffed; again, we could deal with that except that as nice as everyone was, things just didn't get done. Non-working outlets. Non-working USB ports. And like the other Courtyard Marriotts, they've done away with their wonderful free breakfasts, and their food bar, and gone to Starbucks. We paid $18 for breakfast the next day - because there isn't really anywhere else within walking distance, and after a very long drive no one felt like getting in the car. We received avocado toast that wasn't toasted, not even an attempt, coffee that was possibly the worst I've ever tasted (and I am a Starbucks fan), and if there was more than 1 1/2 teaspoons of avocado spread on the single slice of bread, I would be shocked. The service was with a smile but frankly it was awful. The room seemed clean but so many things didn't work. Peeling paper in the shower and rest of bathroom. And again, no extra toilet paper. It's a sad thing. I know times have been rough for hotels but almost everywhere we stayed was filled to capacity. All of them prefer you not use maid service (fine with us, btw), but you'd think they would at least leave extra towels in that case. Again, very disappointing.

It could have been better.

A few things didn't go right with our stay here. Some of the outlets in the room didn't work. We tried to call the desk to get it fixed but the phone was also broken. The main problem was the room above sounded like a non stop dance party. I am sure it was just like a big man and like 4-5 kids but it was constant starting at like 7am-10am. Then again at night. My wife called the front desk from her cell phone with no outcome. Also, the location was nice since it was on the river but it wasn't walking distance from anything. In hindsight, it would have been better to be closer in town near all the activities. My son liked the pool area. I wouldn't stay here again with so many options.

Excellent and safe stay for our first time our during pandemic

We moved from a view of the parking lot to a view of the pool/river for some more money, but it was totally worth it. THe view is breathtaking! This place has river access, a great pool and even a mini beach!!! My family enjoyed themselves. It was even a good time just sitting on our balcony enjoying the view. We took advantage of the lower rates during the pandemic, not sure if we can afford going back with normal rates, ,but glad to have enjoyed while we could!
