Short Couple Getaway
Opinión escrita el 9 de Novembre de 2019
Booked a room with a jacuzzi in it because the weather was cold and damp. Water was super hot which is a rarity in hotels and was very nice. Room was clean and typical. Nothing stood out as great or bad. Bed had lots of pillows which helped since the mattress was on the firmer side. Breakfast was basic - waffles, toast or a bagel were the only hot food items. Selection of yogurt, hard boiled eggs, cereal and fruit so there were options. Only negative was the price of the room was high when hotel wasnt busy, not vacation time and booked the room late in the day. If in the area wouldnt hesitate to stay again but not for the price we paid considering it was a basic room with basic breakfast.
Nothing but praise!!!

I am a doctor at the local hospital and moved here not knowing the area. I have lived here in the hotel for nine months. My partner and I have lived here with our 18 year old dog who is quite frail. The room is well decorated and provided everything needed for our situation. Gary, the manager and his parents live in the facility and are available at all times. They are fine people and now I call them friends; they will always be welcome in my home no matter where I settle. I would recommend Asteria Inn to anyone who needs extended stay requirements; clean, safe and kind spirit prevails.
Very unpleasant for the price

Entire building reeked of cigarette smoke and mildew. Mold on curtains. Broken lamp and missing dresser drawers in room. Difficult to understand clerk through thick plexiglass barrier and thick accent. Room cost $15 more than advertised online. Very not recommended.
Helpful front desk staff

I was assigned a room on the second floor. This motel doesn't have an elevator, and Joshua, the front desk clerk, helped me carry a heavy cooler upstairs. The room was huge and clean.
The only issue I had was a group of about six Hispanic men who also had rooms on the second floor. I felt they kept eyeing me. As I left my room for the last time to go to the car to get my clothes, I said to my 75 pound dog who was in the room, "I'll be back in a minute." Two of the men heard me and I never saw them again. Maybe they assumed there was a person in the room and I wasn't a female traveling by myself. My husband came in a couple of hours later.
Clean, safe, and quiet. Great for the price!

I stayed here for a week. To be clear, I usually stay at mid to high end hotels. This is not that. But, for $58 a night, it was clean, comfortable, and safe. It was quiet to work in. There are good stores and restaurants nearby. Everything they have, works. It is an easy drive to the Twin Cities. The housekeeping staff are conscientious and capable. It is a bit run down, and the clientele are folks who want to pay as little as possible for a room. Nothing wrong with that. I would stay here again, should the need to visit New Richmond arise.
