Noisy , heard too much noise from the street. Rooms are too small.Don’t come with a suitcase since you could hardly move

Reviewed 3 july, 2022

Small rooms, a lot of street noise , no closet, staff wasn’t helpful. What other negative things you need to hear? Good location. Only to travel for a couple of days. Don’t bring a suitcase since it won’t fit in the room. Come in with a carry on bag

Great place to stay in a cool spot

Reviewed 29 june, 2022

I stayed at the Arlo for a week back in May 2022. It's a really lovely hotel with friendly staff and a very cool rooftop bar. The room I was staying in was beautifully designed, but very small - I was staying on my own for a work trip, so this wasn't an issue at all, but would be challenging if I was travelling with my wife. Overall, it's a great place to stay and well priced for the area. Will 100% re-book next time I'm visiting the NYC office.

pay attention to your credit card

Reviewed 28 june, 2022

please pay attention to your creditcard if you stay here. We stayed for 5 nights in march 2022. When we left I asked the guy at the lobby if all bills were payed? He checked and said yes. The day after we left they charged a bottle of wine and a video to my credirt card. Wine we never ordered and a video we never saw. 2 months after our holiday the charged some other extra costs to my credit card. After weeks of emails they finally paid most of it back except the wine. I asked them show me some proof that I ordered this wine. Never saw any proof, because they had none. Now after some more emailing they just stopped responding. It looks like the 50$ for the wine will never be returned. So please be carefull if you stay here because they charge it to your credit card without any notice or anything. If you don't check it they win. To me this is just like stealling.

Good for young travellers who want to party, bad for families who want sleep

Reviewed 28 june, 2022

Positives: Good shower pressure, good size fridge in room, comfy beds and ideal location for subway. Good wifi, Steamer for clothes was nice touch. Some reception staff very polite and helpful though I found some not so helpful Negatives: Room not ready upon arrival (4.30pm), wasn’t offered an explanation, wait time or place to wait until I asked if there was seating and then they forgot to inform me once it was ready. No sleep first night due to pounding music until 2am in roof bar, unfortunately soundproof strips in windows had deteriorated or completely fell out so offered little sound protection. Friendly staff in morning agreed to move me into a lower room unfortunately only room available was one floor lower. Air con in new room sounded like a car engine but I didn’t complain as found it drowned out the thudding of the music at night so every cloud and all that. The shower curtains are poorly designed so don’t stay up so bathroom and most of room floor kept getting soaked. The entire hotel except the lobby smells heavily of cannabis so be prepared to have interesting conversations with your tweens around drug legislation. Deposit wasn’t refunded until 3 weeks after stay and then I had to chase. Hotel now contacting me about missing urban fee as they say booking.com falsely advertised this as included in my price?!?! And so it continues ….. Overall I feel this hotel probably was good once but now seems a little run down and seems to focus more effort on generating business for their rooftop bar and party clientele and less for their families and more mature guests.

Cool and great stay

Reviewed 20 june, 2022

Cool and nice hotel, great staff, good food and nice rooftop. My first visit and I was a little bit surprised over the small room and wall-to-wall bed. But it it was clean and the bed was really comfortable. I did not come to NYC to sit I’m my room so it worked great for me . You must try the pancakes on the breakfast menu, wow is the only thing I can say. I big shout out to the team at the front desk, Marcus you are solid gold !! I will be back for sure.
