Wonderful Experience at Casablanca

Reviewed 26 november, 2021

We took our children to New York for the first time and wanted to stay within easy access of the New York tourist must see sites. Casablanca was the perfect spot. The hotel was a clean, charming boutique hotel. It was a quiet spot but located just off Times Square. Easy walking with small kids to Broadway, Madame Tussauds, Empire, Rockefeller, FAO Schwarz and more. The kids loved Rick's Cafe. Having a 24 hour spot where we could take a break and have a snack was wonderful. However, the best part of the experience may have been the staff. Every single person was friendly and went out of there way to accommodate us. The guys at the front desk were always very helpful and the manager went out of his way to make the Macy's parade a once in a lifetime experience for my kids. I couldn't recommend Casablanca more.

Disappointed this time

Reviewed 18 november, 2021

My wife and I have stayed at the Casablanca Hotel before and loved it. However, this time we were quite disappointed. They used to provide all kinds of goodies at the aptly named Rick's, but this time, there was next to nothing for us. Some chips, Cliff bars, coffee and water--that was all. In the past, there used to be practically a full breakfast, with wine and various treats later in the day. They say that the cutbacks are due to Covid-19, but they could easily enough have provided some yogurt in individual containers, individually wrapped pastries , etc. Disappointing, to say the least. To make matters worse, the elevators were out of commission for almost our entire stay. We are both in our 70s and climbing up and down to the third floor three or four times a day was not our idea of a good time. Sorry to say that we won't be going back to the Casablanca next time we are in NYC. Too bad, because the place is charming and the staff are absolutely wonderful.

Sadly disappointed

Had high hopes The good - big room and bathroom ( latter renovated) Relatively quiet for the location Comfortable bed and pillows Convenient comfortable snack lounge on second floor But.. Rest of decor - carpets etc a tad tired The worst was the elevators(2) were out of order for 3 full days!!! To see older folk struggling up and down up to 6 flights of stairs was unacceptable! And the reaction at the desk- “ we apologise for the inconvenience “ Last visit I’m afraid!

Proximity to everything can't be beat!

Reviewed 8 november, 2021

This little hotel was recommended to us by someone who'd stayed there before .... Loved the proximity to theatres, restaurants, and shopping. Walkable! The rooms were quite nice, and we enjoyed the room on the second floor with fruit, coffee, etc. Employees were pleasant and helpful. Appreciated their ability to call taxis and track their progress getting there. Also utilized their booking of cars to pick us up and deliver us to the airport. The only drawback was that we'd requested an early wake-up call, which never came.

Wonderful Stay!

Reviewed 7 november, 2021

Just returned from a wonderful stay at this charming hotel. Not only was the staff truly amazing, but I was given a free upgrade upon check-in . Loved how when booking on their website I was able to pick from a menu of items to be delivered to my room. I chose the tea kettle and makeup mirror which were already in my room waiting when I arrived. Gotta love that! The location is excellent as well. This was my first theater trip since Covid and the hotel was well within a short walking distance of all three shows as well as subway lines when traveling further afield. Another great amenity is the lounge which I've enjoyed at other Library Collection properties and this one did not disappoint. The convenience of enjoying the included snacks and drinks in a lovely atmosphere after a busy day in the city is a major perk. Can't say enough about this wonderful hotel and very much looking forward to my next visit!
