Not the best stay at a Sheraton

Reviewed 4 december, 2021

They are renovating the hotel, which we did not see any note about it when booking. On the website it said airport shuttle, then to come find out they don’t offer one. They placed us in a handicap room which consisted of a shower head and bath downspout? Why was that not removed if there was no tub? The bathroom got soaked when taking a shower. When arriving to the room, there was feces in the toilet. I thought they were following Covid protocol for cleaning? We found dirty towels with hair embedded in the towels. Eek. The door to the bathroom did not lock either. On the website it listed complimentary water and there was nothing in the room. It was an upsetting visit.

This hotel is a gem hidden in a great culturally diverse neighborhood in Queens. The restaurants, shops and things to do in Flushing are endless. The hotel boasts spacious rooms with amazing views. The beds and pillows are heavenly and are sure to rejuvenate you night after night. I've stayed weekends on 4/5 seperate occasions and as a Titanium member, get access to the lounge stocked with breakfast, evening refreshments, and drinks/snacks 24/7. The staff are warm and friendly and they make sure to go above and beyond for all guests! Across the street from the 7 train and 10-15 bus routes

Location is a blessing and curse.

This hotel is recovering from major flood damage. We returned here after many years. We first stayed here right after it first opened. Everything was perfect then so when we planned this trip, we decided to stay with our "old friend," The hotel itself was fine, the service was limited but tolerable. Our problem was that the area had changed to something xenophobic. I am a New Yorker and this area was my home. I expected a more inclusive experience and I received that treatment in other parts of New York City. I regret to say that while I do not hold the hotel responsible in any way for the Xenophobia I experienced, it would be a disservice to my fellow travelers not to report it

Hidden Gem!

Professional, friendly staff (Matthew and Allen were extra helpful) and well appointed, well maintained rooms. Very convenient location off the 7. Lots of great food anywhere in the neighborhood. There is construction taking place right now and it was a little hard to find the hotel at night, but once complete, I'm sure it will be even more incredible inside!

Hotel room is very good but service sucks.

Hotel room wz very comfortable, when we finally got to it. Something told me to check to see if it was under construction because of the rate. It really wasn’t low enough for the experience. It’s under construction , which isn’t the worst thing. It’s their crappy service. When I called the hotel, prior to booking, that would have been a good time to indicate that the entrance is on Roosevelt, not 39th Avenue which is the address given. We drove around the area 15 minutes, running up a much higher fare, trying to find the entrance. When we finally found the entrance, the door man watched us, 2 middle aged women, struggle with our bags w/out lifting a finger! He told us where to go w/o assisting us to the elevator. Check in wz on the 7th floor. Unfriendly, stoned faced personnel checked us in. I inquired about a later check out given that our plane wz departing later in the afternoon. They were soooo reluctant to concede us another hour even though we’d booked their airport shuttle for 1:30. I wanted to scream at her, “Stop pretending you’re even at half capacity w/ an expectation of full capacity on a Sunday in Queens in October!”Hotel room is large by NY standards, beds comfortable, room clean, water pressure excellent even though we were on the 10th floor. Unfortunately, we were placed near an elevator so my sister, light sleeper that she is, didn’t rest well. Inevitably, I find myself pondering is this the treatment reserved for Black guests? I came here tired. Probably gonna leave here, still tired.
