The plaza hotel is such an iconic place in NYC. Unfortunately, As we navigate through these uncertain times. The PLAZA made a difficult decision to close its doors on Friday, March 27 due to Covid. The hotel has not reopened or resumed any type of services. The hotel is open for residents only
Best Birthday Getaway
The Plaza hotel has been the perfect stay for my birthday weekend which was made special by the lovely staff. They have been very friendly and helpful for restaurants and sight seeing recommendations. Many thanks to Shane from front desk who was particularly helpful throughout the whole weekend and helped my boyfriend to organise a birthday surprise. Overall it has been a great experience and a fantastic weekend. Also, I would highly recommend the Tan Yard restaurant 😊
We love our stay!
We love our stay! The bedroom was spacious and comfortable. There is a coffee machine and a TV with a great choice of channels, lovely bathroom, lovely bed linen, robes, and towels. It is worth paying extra for a lake view because the view is stunning. Every staff member is so well-trained, they are friendly and helpful and put the guests' needs first. This place is highly recommended!
No finesse
Beautiful building and room, doirman was great. But, not as grand or good as expected and has lost it's finesse. Restaurant staff weren't great at breakfast....really not well trained at all. They stood gossiping and squabbling behind the screen loud and visible and, ignored guests, attitude was poor, food was average, scant and the chef was a novice at making omelettes and had a don't care attitude....was pretty crappy, so much so, we complained. Don't eat there....plenty of better places with better service!
Home alone vibe
On a serious note, we loved it. Absolutely loved it. I do love Manhattan so I may by byas, but the room, the staff, the location, the holiday vibe...it was amazing. Snow would have made it a 7 star stay.
