Too noisy for us

The concept is interesting but when we arrived it was not ready and we had to wait, when we arrived in the room it smelled strongly of cigarettes, sorry but we did not like the decoration too cheap but especially what we did not have to all appreciated was having to leave our room at 10:30 am when we had not had it on our arrival at the scheduled time, no apologies and no commercial gesture regarding this delay ! Soundproofing problem, we had slept badly, there was outside noise in the street and a lot of young people in the hotel who came home late at night and made a lot of noise
Don’t trust them with your money

Poor poor service. Booked a weekend in April and charged a 30% deposit. The booking was cancelled by the owners with a promise of a refund via booking.com. This has never materialised despite chasing. Complete robbery. Don’t trust them with your money - in an email they said would refund once they were out of lockdown. Disgusting.
Great location and room!

We stayed here for 6 nights in early October. The street is a small one and can be hard to locate. It is in a very central location, close to restaurants, transit and the beach. We loved the room, from the flooring in the room and shower, the balcony where we could hang our laundry and the sink and mirror right behind the bed. The mattress was amazing. To communicate with the owner we used email and we were able to go up to the 4th floor once we knew the hours she would be there. We were prepared for the stairs. There were about 60 steps to get to our room on the 2nd floor. The only drawback for us was the loud music coming from somewhere else. Despite the great soundproofing and windows, we could hear it and the bass and beat were not restful. This occurred on 4 of the 6 nights we were there.
Not what we were shown on internet

We booked an apartment through the website of the hotel. The hotel only described three different types of suites/apartment and I thought we had booked one of them. When we arrived it was a totally different apartment/suite we got. It was clean and had a great location, but had a very different standard. The receptionist said I have booked a different apartment but the other apartments are only showed on hotels.com website. So when you book here be sure that you really book at the hotel. I will absolutely not come back!!
Gorgeous but renovation was too much

My wife and I got a rare chance to get away for 2 days whilst our 18month old was staying with the grandparents and we couldn't have been more excited to get away and relax (sleep until late morning). We arrived at 1pm and Although we had to stay with alot of thought and money going into it and couldn't have been happier with the location and luxurious feel of the property. My wife did mention however it was not the room we booked, I've seen this on reviews before of this establishment and maybe something they need to look into. Nonetheless we were very impressed. We ventured out and came back a few hours later for an afternoon nap and noticed the apartment below had some renovation works going on, not thinking much of it we got back to our room and 10 mins later, I can only describe as a pneumatic drill, shook the entire floor much to our shock. I phoned the owner and she assured me it stopped at 4pm and wouldn't start til late in the morning. Slightly bemused and worried we stayed and at 8:30 the next morning.... We heard a Bang, bang, bang. It woke us up and we were more than annoyed. At 9:30 exactly the drilling started and we'd had enough. I complained and the owner was a bit of a flap and said it wasn't her fault and she didn't know if they were drilling. After a phone call to her husband (business partner) she pleaded with the builders to stop but by this point we were awake we knew the same would happen after our 2nd night. In the end we found another hotel and only enjoyed 1 night with not enough sleep we had hoped for. I was very disappointed in the lack of communication about the works going on downstairs, we only booked 2 weeks before and if she had emailed us to notify of the works and given us a clear outline of when the noise would start we could have arranged to be out the apartment or stayed somewhere else. Instead she didn't and unfortunately we were very annoyed and now left a negative review which should not have been the case as the facilties and apartment were fantastic. The owner was very apologetic but she unfortunately missed out on business for a night and we left feeling slightly bemused at the thought of having to cross town to find somewhere else to stay. Not the relaxing 2 days we had hoped for. Nonetheless I would still recommend if stairs are not an issue and you want a modern, new apartment in a great area of town. Just a shame the owner could not notify us and save the stress for her and us with all the drilling and building work below.
