Nice Mercure Promenade Des Anglais- Dissapointing
Reviewed 21 january, 2023
My partner and i were there for 2 days. The location is very good. Other than this the hotel has very basic amenities, the hotel rooms are small and not in good condition. The shower is over the bath and the space is small. An old style of shower. There is no room service to order meals to your room so you have to be out to get something to eat. Upon arrival i asked the girl at the reception desk to freeze my icepack for my medication. When we checked out she gave me a completey thawed and soft icepack. When i asked her why it wasn't frozen, she literally just shrugged her shoulders and said she doesn't know. She didn't care that i was travelling with medication and that i had carefully explained to her when we checked in why i needed the icepack frozen. She didn't apologise either, was completely non-chalant despite the fact that i was clearly upset and anxious about my meds that i had to take on a flight with me. Her colleague then offered to run to the pharmacy to buy me a icepack. We expected a better quality stay and a better hotel experience but we were dissapointed. I would not recommend this hotel especially to older couples. We would rather pay more for a more comfortable stay. Tanya G South Africa

Happy with our stay — but not a hotel to rave about

The location is everything with this Mercure, which is one of three or four in Nice. It’s right on the promenade, one block from restaurants, a few minutes from the main shopping district. But it is past its prime: it is one part of a large building, a few decades old, that also houses the Ruhl casino and Le Meridien. The Mercure seems to have the lower floors while the Meridien has the better ones. The space is tight: the lobby is small and the breakfast room can be crowded, but the staff are good and the breakfast is good. For us, with one room for parents and an (inside, court-yard view) room for child, this was OK value on the Cote d’Azur. The risks in booking this hotel are: getting an inner-view room, having trouble with the noise from the bar on the ground floor, getting noise from ongoing work on the building (as at January 2023). We were comfortable here and were happy with our stay.

Mercure fantastic stay

The hotel was so centrally located in the heart of Nice on the Prom close to all bars and restaurants. The room was spotlessly clean - we had a superior room with a sea view and it was spectacular. All of the staff were very friendly. We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel as there were so many restaurants around the area but there did appear to be a lovely breakfast area.

Nice beach close

Close to beach, but noisy by bars, city view is the building across the street. A/c was not the best, not the cleanest curtains. Has a bathtub for shower area and shower head hard to adjust so won’t spray out of tub area. But best feature is it was close to beach.

worst stay in Nice shame on Accor

So first of all they are super close to the beach. But that's all. There is a Bar / restaurant full of drunks under the rooms so you can't sleep. The staff are totally RUDE and unaccommodating. I paid for a beach view room and my room faces the trash cash instead in the back. They said the room I paid for wasn't available for 1 of the nights so I would have to check in and check out then into another rooms. What a total disaster. DO NOT STAY here ever!!!
