Great Hotel Room, Horrible Hotel Location

Opinión escrita el 3 de enero de 2023

The Fairfield Inn and Suites North Bergen has well-appointed rooms. The design, the furniture, and the feel are all great. Here's what I don't understand about the hotel. Why is it built in a desolate, nondescript part of town, on top of a hazardous hill? Driving into the hotel at night feels like going into a dangerous part of town. You literally drive through and past an empty railyard, poorly lit warehouse areas and rows and rows of truck trailers to find the turn into the hotel. The steepness of the hill to the hotel actually seems dangerous under severe weather conditions, or in the dark. Make sure your brakes work when you are waiting at the traffic light. Lastly, the hotel makes the guest go back outside to their car to place a handwritten parking pass on the dashboard. This should be changed. Guests don't want to go back out in the cold and the dark of your lot to put the hotel parking pass on the dash. Please just take down our vehicle's plate, and monitor the lot, which plenty of other hotels do. I did find some cleanliness issues in the bathroom, which I spoke to the front desk agent about upon check out. I looked at her name tag, and to my surprise it said she was the house keeping supervisor. She was very receptive to my feedback, but I couldn't help but think, "No wonder there's a cleanliness issue, the housekeeping supervisor is being made to work the front desk as well." Management needs to fix that, too, because that's unfair to that HK supervisor. Lastly, the breakfast was actually commendable. They have lots of individually wrapped breakfast items, which was reassuring from the COVID and contagion perspective. The room was very nice, but I'm not staying here again. Will find somewhere in a better part of town that doesn't require the housekeeping supervisor to work the front desk.

Clean rooms and easy access to NYC

Opinión escrita el 5 de decembre de 2022

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn for 3 nights with 3 rooms (party of 11). Front desk was very helpful with busses and assistance. Breakfast was decent (all the kids liked it) and rooms were clean. Bus ride to Port Authority was around 40 mins. All in all we would definitely stay here again for our trip to the city.

Bed bugs and terrible management response

Opinión escrita el 8 de novembre de 2022

I stayed there 4 nights recently. I stayed there once before and liked the place thought it was new and clean. But this time after first night my back was itch and i felt bumps like mosquito bites. But bed bugs never came up to my mind cause it never happened to me. It was continuously itch but never looked either. After came back home I thought it’s strange why bumps doesn’t go away so I checked my back and found multiple bug bite marks. It’s still red and multiple bites obviously by bed bugs. Called hotel(it was same day I checked out), told that manager not available so someone will call me next day in the morning. Nobody called me next day so I called and spoke to general manager. I didn’t hear apology but she said they will investigate the room and will get back to me by friday which is 4 days later. It’s passed more than a week now no one reached out to me. Very disappointed with management. Specially female general manager who I spoke to. Management should learn how to take care the situation like this. Btw I was at room 313. Avoid the hotel until you confirm they treat the entire building.

Great Staycation

Opinión escrita el 7 de abril de 2022

Overall, a nice, clean hotel. Staff was friendly, and I would recommend if your needs fit for this location. I wish they would put the shuttle back. Rooms were large, and very fresh. Free parking is a plus.

Clean and comfortable!

Opinión escrita el 14 de febrero de 2022

Stayed at the Fairfield Inn and Suites North Bergen before flying out of EWR the next morning. The hotel was modern, clean, and comfortable. Its in a bit of crammed area so parking can be a little iffy but overall no issue. I left before breakfast was served so I cannot comment on that. Overall a nice hotel with free parking and a clean and comfortable room with modern touches and amenities.
