This is my favorite place to stay when I visit Charleston. They staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms are clean and well kept. I was there on business and would recommend this hotel when visiting the Charleston area.
Rude Treatment - Kicked Out By Maintenance

Very rude treatment!!! Checkout is 12:00 Noon. At 10:50AM heard someone pounding on my door although there was a Do Not Disturb hanging on my door. The guy said this is Maintenance. We are here to sanitize your room. I told him I was not ready to check out and needed to shower before. He said " You were told we would be sanitizing your room and we need to get into do that. I asked is there not other rooms he could do first. Then he said yes but I am giving you 20 minutes and I will be back. You need to be gone." For the record when I checked in on Sunday Evening October 10th I was told by front desk they would be doing carpet cleaning on the 11th and 12th. Nothing mentioned about sanitizing. Irregardless I was gone all day the 11th. Checking out at noon today on the 12th but the rude maintenance guy could not wait. Just had to kick me out. I have never been treated like this ever. Might I also mention I have a Platinum Elite status with Marriott but that didn't matter to them at all. I have stayed at this property for years but today was my LAST day. I will NEVER stay here again. My suggestion if you plan to stay in North Charleston, SC stay across the road at Hampton Inn & Suites. I plan to do so in the future. All the woman at front desk could say is she is sorry and they would talk with him. That doesn't change nor does it compensate what happened to me.

Our check in was ok, except our 3 rooms were on 3 different floors even though we had asked to be close. One of the rooms was booked as two queens + sleeper; it contained two fulls. Our complaint was ignored. It took 2+ hours to get a rollout. The front desk had told us they didn't have any but the manager found one. The rooms were outdated and showed signs of age. Breakfast was okay. Both nights around 1am there were a group of kids running up and down the stairs/hallways. The front desk didn't rectify the problem. Both nights the police were called by guests! The front desk people from 4PM till 8AM were unfriendly and not helpful. The surrounding area is not good at all; we didn't feel safe. No, we will not stay there again. In fact we may eliminate Fairfield Inns everywhere as an option.

Hotel is in bad need of a renovating. Fixtures in my room were very worn. A liquid of some sort had been spilled on the wall in several places and allowed to dry, and it appeared no one has ever tried to clean it off. "Grab & Go breakfast" is a Farce! Need to start serving something that at least resembles real food right away!!
Poor Customer Service

Overall the property was nice, clean and the room was comfortable, however the customer service at this property is questionable. The Front Desk Agent was not pleasant, no smile, did not make you feel welcome, guest name was not used and was not helpful with my situation. Manager never came out to the Front Desk back from her office to provide any assistance. No assistance nor apology was given by the Manager. Was completely ignored by the Manager. The two desk tops at the business Center were not working and no other option was given to me. On check-out day room key was not working at 8:00 am. When asking to get key re-activate, Front Desk Agent blamed it to another agent when actual herself check me in. It seemed to be a hassle to re-activate the key, at the end I still received the keys. Service was poor not at Marriott standards. Very disappointing.
