Barefoot Vacation Resort

I visited this resort for New Years 2022. After driving 5.5 hours from Atlanta and arrived a little after 5 the room was not cleaned. We had to wait about an hour for the cleaning. They could not put us in a clean room so we had to wait. When we got in the room the carpet was dirty (heavily stained). I will not visit this place again. Purchased on Groupon so I should know better!
Yearly Golf Trip

Our group of four (golf buddies) made this our place to stay and play this year's annual Myrtle Beach Golf trip. Condo was fine and as advertised and met our needs fine. It was nice being so convenient to the courses, clubhouse for breakfast each morning (included in our package), and so many restaurants to choose from. I would recommend staying here for your MB vacation or golf trip.
Bareass Burning Cottage from Hell!

Stayed at River Crossing 312. Cigarette and fish smell when entering. Fridge not working due to previous renters turning setting on high cool. Seal coming off of fridge door. A/c unit not working. Molded shower curtains. Stained flee market furniture. Broken mattresses. Broken kitchen chairs with no support. Writing on windows showing no cleaning. Cigarette ashes in ash tray. Dead bugs on porch and in unit. Left message since office closed. Lori called the next day with normal nervous laugh, therefore showing she did not know how to deal with people. Waited to meet a/c mechanic. Reset breaker and got unit cooling after a day with no a/c. Brought out hotel shower curtains. Next morning woke to burning wires smell from electrical box and too hot to touch. A/c tech came back to unit and replaced breakers while out and no messages. When returned lights in unit were auto dimming and flashing. Called in again and tech came out for third time to adjust wiring at box. Lori with nervous laugh, your a/c is working! Yes the a/c is working but the unit almost had an electrical fire and you can’t run the a/c without power surges. But, your a/c is working. Still didn’t get it. Then had a family that let there kids run around to about 1am each night. I stopped by to turn in key fob on the way out and asked what could be done about this. Ha, Ha we can take a percentage off on your next stay. Unacceptable and so glad to be home. Left it a lot cleaner than checkin.
Horrible customer service, no care for accessibility

We booked at Barefoot Resort after an extensive conversation with a Barefoot Resort booking agent. We were assured repeatedly of two things: 1. That we could get a first floor unit (we had someone in a wheelchair and an 87 year old). 2. That there were bike paths. When we got to Barefoot Resort, we were given a second floor unit. The reservation clerk clearly saw a note in our reservation that we needed first floor accommodation, but it was ignored. After a lot of time explaining that this was unacceptable, the agent finally got permission to give us a first floor unit the next day. We had to deal with the second floor for one night, which was not easy. And we had to rearrange our vacation schedule the next day so that we could move at the resort’s convenience. There are NO bike paths at Barefoot Resort. None. There are golf cart paths. We asked the manager on duty, Ms Gilroy, if we were allowed to walk or ride bikes on the golf cart path. She assured us that we were. The next morning we were scolded by the golf club who informed us that only golf carts are allowed on the paths. When we relayed this story to Ms Gilroy she was completely unconcerned and could have cared less. There were other things as well: Dead bugs in the condo, old dried up food under the beds, they forgot to give us WiFi passwords, they gave us pool pass cards that didn’t work, they put us off repeatedly when we came to them with issues. We have tried to contact Ms Wilcoxson, the General Manager, to talk to her about not getting a first floor room the first night and she has never returned a phone call. I would never recommend this resort.
Extremely disappointing stay

First time ever writing a review. Condition of condo upon arrival was not good. Trash and dustballs on floor, a prior guest's clothes in dresser, kitchen cabinets and utensils covered in layer of sticky grease, pots dirty, dryer full of lint, no garbage bags provided. Took 4 days to replace a lightbulb. Maintenance person stole laundry bag with dirty clothes. Staff says they will call you back, but never do. Terrible customer service. Currently on hold with front desk for 15+ min.
