The Ecotel

My husband and I stayed for a month last year and really enjoyed it. A bit oldfashioned as some have said but we liked that about it. It is close to everything. Shops, beaches, lovely drives and walks. The staff were very helpful. The room was big with all the necessary amenities. I can't think of anything to complain about. I might add that we have stayed in hotels all over the world and though it may not look flash like many we have been to we enjoyed it more than most. If it wasn't for the coronavirus situation we would be there now.

Reception allegedly open till 8pm, there was never anyone there. There was a ring bell sign yet no bell to be rang. The bathroom smelled like sewage for the whole 4 days we stayed there, when finally managed to speak to someone they lied to our face saying the problem had been fixed, yet it did not. Any portaloo smells way better than that bathroom. Disgusting And the customer service also very poor. I personally have over 15 years experience in this area and was appealed by them.

Was living here for awhile with my partner had so many issues it wasnt funny... the room we stayed in unit 2 when we moved in smelt mouldy and wet the bathroom sink leaked water drain wasnt fixed correctly the water goes extremely hot or extremely cold in the middle of a shower the heater on the wall obviously been maintained or inspected in a long time as it caught on fire 🔥 , we also had problems with the lady in unit 4 who seemed to have different rules to everyone else in the complex i had been told to have my dog on a lead when outside which i always did one morning when i took my dog out the lady from unit 4 was no where to be seen and her dog was wondering and harassing my beautiful placid dog and then bit her on the face because she grunted at it because it would not get out of her face !Police always seemed to be in the complex also started to get so bad my partner and i left as soon as we could i would not recommend to anyone if i could id give this place 0 stars if it were possible just seemed like everyone there wanted to start fights its not a well ran business at all honestly surprised its still in business ..

We just wanted a cheap bed for the night, The accommodation was Clean and tidy with a toaster, kettle tea and coffee, comfy bed easy check in/check out easy parking. lovely grounds, great value!!! for under $100 would stay again for sure!

The Motel describes itself as “Ecological Accommodation”. That may be the case but maybe it should be “Economical Accommodation”. The room was on the spacious side with a King Sized (comfortable, including linen) bed and two single beds. There was a TV and microwave as well as a large wardrobe, table and three chairs, a sink, cutlery and crockery. There was a jug, mugs and glasses. The bathroom was of an old design and with a lack of hanging space. There was no shower curtain or door which meant the bathroom floor got wet whenever the shower was used. There was plenty of hot water and the pressure was good. The bedroom/living room needed some TLC. New curtains, the current ones hardly covered the windows. The window winders did not work properly, although all the windows had protective insect screens. There was no air conditioning although a floor fan was provided which worked well. Heating is by means of a bar radiator and three blankets. The carpet needed cleaning and the glasses and mugs appeared to have been only rinsed. You get what you pay for these days and at $88 per night I suppose I got what I payed for. Cheap? Definitely. Worth the money? Probably. Recommended? As a last resort.
