Clean and comfortable

Room was clean, comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities (the Yorkshire teabags and Border biscuits were a really nice touch). The bathroom could do with a refurb (there was a little mould around the shower tray sealant) and the bottom edge of the bathroom door was a bit frayed, but the room itself looked recently refurbished. Ample car parking and around a 13 minute walk to the M&S Food Hall All the staff were friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband and 4 other family members. After reading some of the reviews I was nervous but it couldn't have been better. The rooms whilst needed a little TLC especially in the bathroom were clean and everything we needed was provided. The mattress was also a little lumpy but we were only there 2 nights so not an issue. The party night was excellent and the meal lovely, I had the lamb & the portion sizes generous, not typical of large scale catering. I can't comment on breakfast as we didn't eat there but 2 in our group did & said it was very good Staff in particular we're brilliant, I inadvertently set the smoke alarm off due to the steam in the bathroom, the staff were at our room in an instant and very forgiving for my mistake, all of the staff that we met were pleasant. Thank you we all had a brilliant time.
First visit to Allerton Court

We visit Northallerton at least twice a year to visit family and usually stay in the main High Street for convenience but having found an excellent price on Booking.com we decided to stay here although it’s a 15 minutes walk from the town centre. Communications with the hotel before our arrival were handled extremely quickly and resolved which raised our expectations rightly so in these difficult times including the following “Following the latest government announcement face coverings need to be worn in all public areas of the hotel” However on arrival and throughout our 1 night stay we did not observe a single member of staff following this advice which made us feel uncomfortable. On entering our allocated family room 202 first impressions were good with views over the garden area which would be a plus in summer but on closer inspection we were disgusted to notice smear marks on the curtains which hadn’t been cleaned by Housekeeping and then noticed the bedside cabinet was missing the entire top drawer alongside a non-functioning lamp and telephone which I reported to Reception as we left for an evening with family with the assurance these would be rectified. They were not which gave us the feeling that below standard is their normal standard further demonstrated by the unsightly stains on the main stairs. On a positive note, high grade Yorkshire Gold teabags were provided in the room along with nice bathroom products but these do not make up for the shortcomings we experienced and would not choose this hotel in future having enjoyed better standards elsewhere in Northallerton.
New Years Eve 2021

Stayed at this hotel before but don’t think will stay again. £125 for one night in a shabby room, the bed was terrible like sleeping on a plank of wood and awful pillows. Something simple like fixing curtains make a difference. Just not good enough. Extremely disappointed.
Christmas Party night
Reviewed 19 december, 2021
Arrived at hotel and was showed to the room where the party was, supposed to be fizz on arrival no sign of it. Had to ask after 15 mins.Showed ourselves to our table as there were no staff around. Only sign of Christmas was one lonely tree in the corner. Large empty white table with knives and forks and a cracker each. Only decoration was 3 balloons in middle of table. Very underwhelming. Never been any where so basic. Food wasn’t much better beef was tough as old boots, sprouts over cooked and the stuffing tasteless. Cheesecake small slice with ONE cranberry on top and 2 spots of coulis no bigger than the size of a pea ( no joke). £25 for 4 drinks at the bar! On the good side the lady DJ was good. Bring your own sanitizer, visited the toilet at beginning of evening ,sanitizer outside toilets but was dry as a bone! Staff dropped forks of the plates and just kicked them all the way to the kitchen. Won’t be booking a Christmas party here again.
