Not bad if it was advertised as a homeless shelter.

I don't really know what was going on, but the place was chaos and frankly it felt like a homeless shelter or some sort of low-end college dorm. The smell of pot was pervasive. The elevators rarely worked, and I walked down 29 floors to check-out with my luggage as all three elevators were out of service. I hate to stereotype, but many of the other guests seemed homeless or troubled at a minimum. Shoeless, odoriferous, drunk or high, etc. Someone had speculated that the government may have been sponsoring certain guests to get a roof over their head, which is all fine and dandy, but not at a hotel open to the public, imho.

Soooo first, Caitlyn at the front desk is amazing!! She chose the perfect room for my daughter to wake up to on her 21st birthday! She’s kind, sweet and welcoming. Our room is on the 37th floor and it has full views of the city. Rooms are clean and bright.

Great customer service and accommodations

My family and I stayed at the Holiday Inn for 3 nights while visiting NYC for a family vacation. The hotel was perfectly located in the heart of the financial district with quick access to the subway, southstreet seaport, battery park, island ferries, the bull, Wall Street, access to Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, restaurants, bars, cafes and much more. The rooms were relatively basic, but had everything you need. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were quiet especially given that we were right outside the elevator. The only downside were the elevators. They wait was longer when riding to/from the lobby. I’d like to specifically call out the desk attendant by the name of Werner. He was AMAZING! He went out of his way to accommodate our reservation and make sure we had the right room and the desired floor. He treated us with respect and was extremely professional. He addressed us by our name anytime he encountered us, even days later. This kind of customer service is hard to find and very appreciated when encountered. Thanks again Werner! You’re going places.

Incredible stay. Fantastic hotel and crew

I absolutely LOVED my stay here. I have no idea why many other reviewers complain about the elevators and the small room. I had no issues with the elevators (as of August) and the room did not feel too small. Try going to a hotel in London and you’ll know what a small room really is. Pros: Service was perfect, everyone was nice. Restaurant is incredible, view is amazing, and location is perfect! Cons: the water is deadly hot. It takes a while to get water that is not burning. Will return to this hotel whenever I am in New York for sure.
