We stayed overnight as part of a European driving trip. The room was very comfortable with a modern urban feel. Very clean and freshly decorated. The hotel was very well prepared for COVID and has a proficient operating system in place, most impressed! Nice restaurant with a good menu selection and an excellent breakfast buffet too.
AWFUL customer service

We only booked this hotel as we were away on business and attending Biofach at the exhibition centre nearby. Of course prices went through the roof as an exhibition was on, my company £364 for a basic twin room per night / for 3 nights - over £1000 in total! When I arrived, yes the room was clean but I was suprised at how basic it was for the price, plus the fact it looked nothing like the pictures on trip advisor. I also looked on booking.com to see there was rooms available for that night for less than half of what we paid. I went down to reception and asked if there was any other rooms available as I felt our room was very poor quality for the price, and we overpaid compared to the current price for available rooms. I’ve never seen someone at reception seem to offended at such a standard question. She asked me ‘what my point was’, and insisted there were no rooms available except those that hadn’t been renovated. Answering my question if an available better room was available seemed impossible and she said I should speak to the manager the next day. However there was a very helpful woman who checked me in. Before I even got round to speaking to a manager the next day we decided to go the gym. Of course the gym isn’t signposted anywhere in the hotel, why would a key facility be? I asked the woman at the desk (who was on her mobile phone) where it was and she pointed ahead of her and said the door on the left after the glass door. There were 3 doors, of course none said gym on and they all looked the same. I picked one and ended up in the stock room. I went back and asked her to confirm again but she just pointed again as it must have been too much effort to walk round from the desk and show me. Of course I eventually found it, no air con, music or lights but not suprised. When we first arrived the lady at reception recommended booking for the restaurant as it gets busy, we didn’t book that night and we were asked by the waiter if we had a reservation but luckily there was space. We decided the next day to request a booking to which the response was ‘you don’t need to book there’s lots of rooms’, to which I confirmed what the waiter had said and so she reluctantly wrote my room number down on a piece of paper. I never even complain, especially when away on business, but only 1 night in I felt I needed to The plus side is the food is good, and the location is 10 minutes from the exhibition, shame it was taken over from the Hilton and the customer service is beyond poor.
Poor customer service and response

We made reservations to dine at the restaurant at 1800. Unfortunately we were caught in traffic and knew that we would be very late. We called the hotel for more than 30 minutes and six times with nobody answering the phone. When we arrived, we saw two employees at the reception desk. We called the hotel from the lobby and both ignored the phone ringing. We could hear it ring and they would not pick up. When we confronted them they became beligerent and told us to our faces that they were busy. Eventually we found out that they refuse to answer the phone and often hide it because they do not care whether people return or not. Their philosophy is that they will always get customers. The young man at the desk was downright rude and dismissive. The only redeeming factor were the two employees at the restuarant Leonardo and Tolca who we knew from when the hotel was Hilton. They were amazing employees and we were so happy to see them. When we complained about the treatment we received they told us that the lady was supposed to be training the young man. When I approached her again she told me that she was only the Line Manager and not trianing any one. Unless this is changed, we intend to go public and expose what this hotel is doing to patrons who have been loyal to that hotel and restaurant for over ten years. Because it changed from a Hilton to another brand it does not mean that people like us should be treated like dirt. Disgusting does not start to describe it.

Great location if you want to go to the stadium... walking distance from the train station is a plus. The rooms well overall it all needs an update, given the hotel was taken over only 8 weeks ago I guess they are trying and it may take a while. It is a little deserted for a large hotel. Breakfast is ok small buffet but enough to choose from. Dinner was very nice and the waiters very cheery and helpful. Let’s hope the new owners get it up running and busy.

Staying here one night. The hallway on the upper floors smell outdated (no where near fresh). Room smells like my grandmas living room with 50 year old furniture. Not even a power plug near the bed. AC blows even on lowest temperature only mildly cold air. Free parking is a plus, outside looks relaxing and inviting.
