Location and customer service excellence!

Reviewed 11 january, 2022

The hotel is a former convent and is centrally located to everything you need to visit in Oaxaca. If that alone doesn't convince, the top-notch service will! All the staff was extremely friendly and helpful; from booking hard-to-reserve restaurants, transportation to/from airport to our COVID tests to go back to the US, our concierge Farith was excellent! Will definitely stay back at Quinta Real on our next visit!

Excellent from start to finish

Every aspect of our stay was excellent: beautiful spacious (super-high ceilings) clean room, gorgeous pool area, delicious breakfast (both local and international selection), gardens, and concierge service. Great location for sightseeing and restaurants. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

There are far better hotels in Oaxaca

This was our second hotel on our trip and it was a complete disappointment. Rude lobby staff abd managers , tacky Christmas decore , loud wedding venue, outdated and uncomfortable rooms and bed. The dining room also plays monk church music all day that is a bit annoying.

Back again and still fabulous

Reviewed 12 november, 2021

We are back for our second visit - last time was quite a few years ago. This hotel is incredibly beautiful and is in a perfect location. The staff is helpful and professional - with restaurant recommendations, Covid testing setup, and pretty much anything else. We are in a Suite Gobernador and it’s nice! It’s not huge but that’s not possible here. This is an old convent with the original walls that are a couple of feet thick and ceilings that are 20 feet high. The complaints in other reviews about size and lack of light are missing the point of staying here: it’s a gorgeous and historical building in the best location possible. Our room rate includes breakfast, which is amazing: a buffet that has various house-made breads, several Mexican specialty dishes, plus eggs to order and all of the usual breakfast items like cereal, yogurt, etc. The breakfast is a huge added benefit. There was a large group of business folks here this week as well as a wedding this weekend, but the service hasn’t missed a beat. This is a fantastic place to stay and I totally recommend it.

Amazing hotel...outstanding service, close to center of town. Near main church wan walking distance to best restaurants. A must see hotel, was fiercely a convent. The food was fabulous, music every morning.
