Selina Milfontes is located in the center of Milfontes, surrounded by sparkling, whitewashed buildings. This is the liveliest area of Vila Nova de Milfontes, full of many restaurants, and stone's throw from the beaches that surround it. Located halfway between Lisbon and Faro, Villa Nova de Milfontes is a small coastal town with a picturesque, sandy beach. Favored by locals, it's largely undiscovered by foreign visitors. Delight in traditional Portuguese cobbled streets and remarkable views of the relatively untouched beaches.

Disappointing experience - bad value for money!

Private rooms were in bad conditions for the price you pay. Horrible smell coming from the bathrooms, mold in the shower and flush broken and generally not clean. Several other people staying there reported the same issues in their rooms. Staff was well aware of all issues and pretended it was an isolated case and did nothing to solve it. No real community feeling since restaurant is private and caters mostly outside guests. I love the idea behind Selina but this location lacks seriously in executing it. Never coming back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Great vibe, helpfull and sociable staff and a house manager who knows her stuff. When housecleaning made a mistake it was dealt with swiftly and compensated with a meal in the excellent new cheffed restaurant which serves up fresh healthy and balanced food
Disappointing Selina franchise

To be fair, I would classify this place as "average" if the asked price was according to the offer of a modest backpackers hostel. However, when you are asked 63€/night for a double room — one expects more than a superficial youthful decor. Most criticism comes from room quality. The air con leaked water to the floor, which ended up soaking my backpack. The shower didn't seem very clean and it was quite small (see photos). The long shower curtains covered the drain making the water constantly overflow to the bathroom floor. But perhaps the most glaring was when I noticed the bed mattress itself was slightly tilted and stiffer on one side. I then realized, when lifted it, the bed frame was made of different patches of wooden planks (see photos). Overall, you end up feeling there was a minimum effort by making the hostel look appealing without proper investment in quality and comfort. Definitely a misleading "franchise" of Selina when you compare it with the one you can visit in Porto for instance. My positive note goes to staff, which in general took us well. Another downside, on the particular occasion we were there — new years eve — was the food. Once again, it was not so much about the food itself, but the overcharge for the quality and amount of food. I would hardly pay much more than 25€ for a double room in a place like this and certainly wouldn't spend more than one night there.
Very good atmosphere!

Very comfortable and very clean. Lovely location and very nice staff. Building is a bit on the older side but super well decorated and the hot tub is to die for! Worth mentioning that mostly the atmosphere and the fun of it is run by this Pop up restaurant called Paco Bigotes which simply has the best team and best food I’ve had in my life. Congratulations to Selina for partnering with them cause you went from an okay guesthouse to a boho chic surfer premium hostel thanks to the restaurant!
