BASIC, CLEAN, QUIET, LIKE A NEW ENGLAND BEACH HOUSE.

The Liberty Inn is perfect, quiet low-key. It is very clean and basic, reminds me of a beach house. The management is very nice. I love staying here! It's near a highway, but also has a secluded feeling. I have not been bothered by any noise. If you like clean, basic and serene (as I do) you will enjoy your stay! JH Laurence May, 26, 2022

We travel up the East coast to see family whenever possible & like to take a break in CT. We have stayed at Liberty Inn for years now. It still as clean, well run & friendly as ever. It is also well located & reasonably priced. Judith & David

Old style motel with some improvements

This is one of those "drive up to your room and park" old-style motels. I feel they are trying hard to make improvements. It looks like the carpeting is fairly new and that the bathroom has been refurbished: sink area, tile on the floor, and tub surround. My stay here for two nights was restful. The bed was comfortable, the pillows a little less so -- they felt a little old. The bedding seemed quite old as it was very thin. The window air conditioner was somewhat efficient but it took quite a long time to cool the room and it was loud. It's easy to hear people talking nearby or walking over your head if you're on the first floor. This motel sits on a hill above a busy road so be careful when coming into (sharp incline) or leaving the parking lot. I didn't feel the noise of the road was a bother to me. The refrigerator in the room has a freezer which was very nice to have. Other common amenities: coffee maker, microwave, hair dryer, iron & board, large TV. TV had lines within the screen going down the right side, seems like it might need to be replaced. No plastic bag provided with the ice bucket. Because it is an older motel, I wasn't certain of their cleaning practices so I wiped down all the hard surfaces with a disinfecting cloth. In the bathroom next to the toilet there were some gray-ish splatters and i wiped them too, fully not expecting they would be removed, but they were. That was a little disconcerting that the bathroom wasn't cleaned as well as it could be. Be certain to tell the staff if you do not want the room cleaned during your stay. Because of Covid, I did not want anyone coming in the room during my stay and I assumed they had the same policy most hotels do these days of not entering a guest's room unless requested. But I didn't say anything so my room was straightened and cleaned during my stay. Regardless of some of the drawbacks I've mentioned, the motel was convenient and priced well so I'd probably stay here again.

Good and bad

The guy behind the counter was nice. Our original room smelled a bit musty and he moved us to another room. Room was big and clean, beds were comfy. Bathroom was recently redone and nice. Room had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and small table with two chairs. Would have gotten 4 stars except for it's location. It's about 100 yards from I-95 on a one way road. You hear the traffic noise while in the bathroom of your room through both doors. It's a motel not a hotel. It's a constant noise. In addition there is nothing within walking distance. Restaurants are about a mile drive to them but more like 4 miles back because of the one way road.

We had a storm and a power outage. I couldn’t find a hotel because they were already all booked. The only one left was The Liberty Inn. I booked it. I have driven by this hotel for 30 years and have never been inside. I was pleasantly surprised. The room was clean. Their bathroom was spotless. The WiFi and cable were beyond my expectations. They had every channel. The beds.....wow. The beds were brand new and more comfortable than my own bed. Then, the Owners.... The Owners were so kind and even refunded me the day I had booked, but wanted to leave because our power was restored. They were so kind and accommodating. I would definitely stay here. To the Owners: THANK YOU SO MUCH!
