Food was delicious but disappointed with the service

Reviewed 3 july, 2022

The food and drinks were to a high standard. Unfortunately, despite there being various tables available, staff turned away our friends (even though they are regular visitors to the Pinehill) stating that they could not cater to the 5 of them. Understandably, our friends were disappointed and did not understand why it would be another 2 hours to wait for food. Due to the fact they had children, our friends were forced to go elsewhere. When we questioned staff and asked if they were perhaps short staffed, they did not seem to answer why they could not serve meals in a timely manner. We explained to the staff that there were only two full tables and that a hotel restaurant should be able to cater for a full capacity.

Fab hotel and staff

Beautiful hotel and great location. The staff are fantastic and can’t do enough for you. Big shout out to Baz, Sef, Billy and the young lad on reception who is learning to become an English teacher. All of the staff work very hard, some don’t speak great English on reception but will get someone who can so not an issue. Food is great and very reasonable. Little problem with sunbeds as people were reserving them and not showing up till late afternoon but, Baz and Sef would make sure you got one so wasn’t an issue. Rooms are good size but could do with a set of draws in as there is only a wardrobe and 2 side tables and dressing table. Our room Was at the back of the main building and was lovely and quiet with beautiful views of the mountains. Can’t wait to return.

Awful experience

Reviewed 1 july, 2022

Several mess ups with rooms and rooms not being available or double booked. Rude reception team that hardly speak English and the hotel has no manager to deal with issues. The restaurant is understaffed and had over an hour wait for bread for starters. The receptionists failed to book the chill pool despite the booking being made over a month prior. Hardly any English speaking staff. Pure and utter chaos and unorganised. Would not recommend to anyone. Has gone so down hill this year. I Have been going to pine hills for 13 years and it has never been like this, it is really disappointing but I will be going else where.

Improvements needed!

Reviewed 28 june, 2022

This was my 4th visit to Pinehills & I’m sad to say things have gone downhill. I had read the other reviews before going but thought it can’t be as bad as people say but it really was. We had booked a deluxe room but were given a triple studio but when we walked in it smelt very “musty”. The room had a damp patch on wall, dirty bed runners, dirty light shade & a disgusting toilet, There was a hole in the kitchen curtain, the hob was disgusting too although we were never going to use it. We had to buy some air freshener to hide the smell. We complained to reception and they came & looked at the room. They said they would move us but only had a attic/top floor room, my partner is 6”4 tall so it wasn’t any good for us. So we decided to stay where we were and try and make the best of it. After we had been out & returned to our room the cleaners had been in and cleaned the toilet and it looked sparkling, The bed runners were also cleaned. We were only given one door card so went to reception to ask if we could have another, we were told No! Not very helpful at all. A lot of the staff couldn’t talk English but luckily Baz was still there and was working very hard to get things done. The pool was lovely but a shame they have got rid of childrens pool. The jacuzzi never worked all week which was a little disappointing . The sunbeds and umbrellas are looking very old and tatty but the covers were changed every day. It’s such a shame the hotel has gone downhill as it was such a lovely place to stay . Improvements are needed to make this the place it used to be!

Still love this hotel

Returned to Pine Hill for what must be the 10th time. Yes it has changed because you no longer see Sonny at Pine Hill and he did make the hotel special. The staff around the pool Baz & Sef are amazing. Yes there are a staff that dont speak English but they are learning and in time im sure they will be as good as Baz & Sef. There were a few minor hiccups but you have to remember the place is recovering from covid so Im sure all minor issues will be solved in the future once staffing issues are sorted. The BBQ is a must and is well worth the money. You will never eat a better BBQ. The food at Pine Hill is the best in Hisaronu, along with the Reef bar food. Had a fab holiday and will definitely continue to come to pine hill. The only things missed is Sonny & killer pool.
