Wonderful golf and stay weekend
My wife and I and another couple stayed at the Manoir at the end of September. We had purchased a package that included golf, a one night stay in the hotel and both dinner on the first night and breakfast the next morning. We were lucky to be there during the height of the changing colors of the leaves in the area. The golf was nothing short of spectacular. The course was in fantastic shape and each hole had it’s own design and character. Even though we were there during the Coronovirus the hotel went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Both meals were above expectations and the staff was fantastic. A great time was had by all and our little group of four are looking forward to going back next year.
Golf/biking
Stayed for 5 nights including 2 rounds of golf 2 dinners and breakfast. Easy drive to Magog which has lots of good restaurants. Hotel staff was good, room was fine with nice balcony and views. Helpful with bike storage. Food was delicious though it might be easier to pass out tickets for your meals. All in all a good stay
Very little for an expense stay , standard of room cleaning poor no attention given to balconies.
Upon arrival we were asked to check into room the smell of cigarette smoke greeted us opening the door. The closet door had big chunks of paint peeling and the desk supporting the TV had not been dusted. The balcony overlooking a small lake and beach had been used as a smoking station as ashes and match’s remained on the AC/heater unit. Calling the front desk was a trip as we were asked to wait for someone to come inspect the room. I went to the reception and asked for a replacement room which was reluctantly provided. The receptionist basically threw the key on the counter. During this time a maintenance guy arrived at the room where J was waiting and declared the room free of smoke based on a gizmo he held into the air. The second room was much better but still a worn and tired space. It’s a shame since the resort has great potential but has been neglected certainly not a 7.3 on Booking . Com
overpriced
stayed in august with our daughter who is an ER nurse and in desperate need of a vacation. We booked for 3 but room (very old and dark) was ready for only 2. Staff was indifferent. Restaurant was good.
Weekend getway
Our family of four went for a Thursday to Sunday weekend over construction holiday period. Room 224 (no balcony; knowing the hotel now, would have asked for a hotel with balcony) Lobby was modern. Lobby staff not particularly friendly or helpful, except for Saturday night. Some of them seem actually overworked and fed up. Not enough staff on reception for check in/check out. Hotel in general needs upgrading: moldy smell in some areas; old painting job/ carpets... our room had a bathtub and a sink that were accumulating water. My husband complained but it was never fixed during our stay. Room was a decent size for a family of four. Not enough towels/toiletries upon arrival, had to request. Outdoor pool: only opens at 11am, which I find is late for a hotel that receives families with kids. Limit of 7 ppl in the pool (Covid). Challenging. Indoor pool area: towels not always available. When you consider yourself 4 stars, I don’t expect to be running around towels and toiletries. 2 hot tubs that need a really good cleaning!!! Indoor pool: just ok. Sauna: closed (Covid). Outdoor area: need a really good upgrading, it’s run down. Lake with pedalo, kayak: it would be nice to have a fair system with time per family. We were never able to use it as ppl jump ahead of you to get it, others stay forever so you and your kids never get a turn. Annoying. Dining area: breakfast was included with our package. Breakfast choice was good, fresh food. Mario was a great waiter (efficient, polite, pleasant!) thank you Mario! In general not good observance of PPE in Covid times. Hostess wearing mask but no visor/goggles. All serving staff wearing visor but no mask (!!!). They didn’t particularly ask people to clean their hands before entering area. Although alcohol was at the entrance, some people just didn’t do it. On that note, during the day sometimes no alcohol available at lobby either, had to ask. Golf service: it was good. Paid 300 plus tax/night so expect a certain level of service and maintenance. I would say it’s average-low for what you pay.
