Beautiful Grounds/Rooms Need Help
I was so excited to be staying at this beautiful hotel and even more delighted when walking into the reception area building. The surroundings are lovely, the pool area was great, but when we entered Tower 2, we immediately Noticed the worn out carpeting. Still, with optimism I opened the door and entered the room of our one bedroom suite, and couldn’t believe how dated and old/worn out it appeared. We live in St. Petersburg and frequently stay at resorts in Orlando and this one, at least the room itself was a huge disappointment. I must say the pool was lovely and we really enjoyed the restaurants but the rooms are seriously in need of a makeover to compete with other upscale resorts.
Not the best, but not the worst
We stayed here over spring break. From the outside, the hotel looks beautiful. The lady checking us in was super friendly and was able to put us in a room close to our friends who were also staying here. After checking in, we got called over to a desk to the left of the check in desk saying come over here for a bag filled with coupons for the area. We went over, but I should have known, it was a ruse! The gentleman asked what parks we were visiting on our stay and if we already had tickets. He said he could get us a great deal on tickets to Kennedy Space Center, and got us pretty excited that we could buy discounted tickets to then find out that it was all about attending a 2 hour time share presentation the next day. So, there was never any bag of coupons, and no discounted Kennedy Space Center tickets unless we went to the meeting. Oh well! When we got to the room, I have to agree with many of the reviews on here in that the room was pretty dated. We had a pool view from our room, and boy was it loud! The pool plays music with pounding bass all day long, so no afternoon naps here! The pillows on the bed were some of the smallest pillows I have ever used - seemed like they gave us travel pillows on the beds. The hotel was great though at replenishing towels, shampoo, and toilet paper when you would request it. Most of the time it was delivered within 20 minutes. The pool was a bit crazy though. Being spring break, the hotel was pretty full - although there was one entire building that seemed to be undergoing renovations. That being said, the pool was packed each day - sun up to sun down. You had to stalk people to get chairs. Many chairs were reserved with towels from families that were not even down around the pool - but they would get up early just to stake out their chairs. I know this is a normal practice at many hotels, but this hotel does not have enough seating for it's guests. There was nobody working around the pool to clean up towels from the chairs of the guests who were leaving, so every spot always looked to be full. I dreaded when my kids wanted to go to the pool because it meant walking around for 30 minutes trying to be at the right spot at the right time when someone was leaving. Also, the pool water was extremely cold. Overall, we liked the location of the hotel. It was easy to get to the parks, and the staff we dealt with were friendly. I don't know that I would choose to stay here again though due to the pool area not being big enough to serve everyone when it is a busy time. The pool was one of the main draws for this hotel, and it was a disappointment.
TOO EXPENSIVE
The room just for one night is ridiculously expensive! The property is nice and so are the rooms, but not for the money it cost! It rained so we did not get to really enjoy the pool area which is a lot nicer than the other resorts in Orlando that we have visited. I would love to go back once the rates decrease:)
Dirty, Gross, Run-Down
I stayed in this hotel from April 9-11, 2021 and I was severely disappointed. Attached are photos from our room. It was covered in dust, dirt, and stains. The bed had dirt streaks on it, the chair had a massive stain, and the entire room reeked of cigarette smoke, even though it was a non-smoking room. The carpet and walls were so stained and all the furniture was chipped. I found someone’s hair right next to the ice bucket and cups. Even during times of COVID, it is obvious that this hotel is not taking cleanliness seriously. Additionally, I booked a room at the Buena Vista Suites, which I have stayed in before and it is very clean and modern. They placed me in Caribe Royal without any notification, and the rooms in Caribe Royal are much older and used than Buena Vista Suites. I feel that some notification should be in order if you’re not being provided with the room photo’d when you made your booking. The only thing keeping me from giving this hotel a one-star review is that the staff is very kind. I will not be staying at this resort again and I highly suggest others to follow, unless you do not mind rooming in other previous guest’s dust, dirt, stains, and hair.
Fees, fees, and fees!
It was insane that you had to pay for parking $15 a day and on top of that a daily fee of $25. I am sorry, the only thing this place has it look like a nice resort is the pool. The pool looks amazing and fun for the kids since it has a slide. I was glad they did provide pool towels. You have to call by 5 pm the day before to get your room cleaned. I wasn’t impressed. Don’t be fooled by the pool pictures. Rooms are average. Learned my lesson with all the fees. I'll book elsewhere where there is no parking fee! There is no visitor parking. My friend had to pay $20 for 24-hour pass.
