We have stayed at the Hard Rock the last two times we have visited Universal. We love the location, the access to food (market with hot food and grab and go stuff plus restaraunts), and the cleanliness. Also, included in the stay is an express pass for the park, which is fantastic.
wow, it’s terrible

under construction without notice on any online outlets. no bed comforters, only sheets. front desk will talk to you in a superior tone when asking about a 2pm checkout (because of switching properties to portofino after one night) , i was offered in a very firm voice until 1pm is 100$, 2pm is 200$. average nightly rate here is between 500$ and 700$. loews hotels will most likely be replaced soon only adding to their track record of loosing properties.

We are staying at the Hard rock just now for a few nights. This is our roughly 6th visit and have another 8 nights booked in June. Normally we stay on club level but this time are on the ground floor. The room is ok, similar to others we’ve stayed in. Maybe a bit tired, like pen on curtains , but overall fine. The corridors however are very tired. There are holes in the walls in several areas. Carpets in some areas don’t look that clean. The outside is being painted and reroofed. We spoke to reception staff who apologised about the holes and said the exterior is getting done first, then they will start on interior. For the price of the rooms, this should have been repaired after it happened, as it’s not what we expect for this type of hotel. Hopefully it will be better in June

I’ve been a guest of universal since Hanna barbara was an attraction. We first stayed at hard rock in 2004. The staff can make or break a place and the staff at this hotel are stellar. Hoa Carlin stands out as a team member who has kept us coming back and makes each visit a joy. Such a hard working pleasant person - people like that are the reason that in a pandemic when you aren’t sure where to stay - you know a place that has such quality staff. Universal and Hard Rock always go above & beyond & Hoa makes that effort every time.
Don't waste the BIG BUCKS

The room was outdated( not worth 500.00 a night). It took 4 hours to get checked in....had to raise my voice. Alot of thugs and gangstas running over you.....not a good family thing. Housekeeping not to good....belhops were fantastic ....construction remodeling going on.....dust,cough, hack.....should have remodeled during the covid shutdown. The fast pass helped some, not sure if it was worth the money. I wouldn't stay again.
