At first glance, it looks like it could be a nice hotel. The staff was very nice....but then you check in. While walking to our room, we were greeted by wires hanging out of the walls (These wires can be reached by a child, not sure how this is up to code. See pictures below. This is in multiple open areas of the "resort" and by the elevators.), a freezing pool, gross hottub, & badly weathered elevator. We figured it was just somewhere to crash after being at the parks so we unpacked and stayed for 2 nights. When we went to shower, the walls shook from the pipes and you could not hear the TV over the noise. The pool area is open until 11pm which sounds nice at first until you hear people at the bar and air hockey table when you are trying to sleep. I was not expecting this after seeing the reviews on IHG. We ended up changing reservations to another hotel and checked out early. I give this a 2 star and not 1 star because the staff was nice.
OK place to rest for the evening, but that's about it

Before we arrived, we received an outdated document with shuttle times to the parks. I advised the hotel that the park open/close times were different from the document and I was advised I would receive notification of an updated form. That didn't happen, but I wasn't too upset about it. Hotel lobby has a nice appearance and is clean. But past that, you can tell that this property is worn. I read other reviews complaining about the water seepage coming from the showers. This happened to us, too. Shower curtains did not do a good job of containing water, which always accumulated onto the floor during showers. Noticed some stains on bed linens. There was an embedded sharp object coming out of the carpet that I stepped on. We asked for towels during our stay twice. The first time we received them with no problem. The second time we never got the requested towels after two requests. The staff member did remove the "resort fees" from our invoice upon learning we did not get the towels. Overall, the location is very good; we saved money by staying here compared to other places...but you get what you pay for. I would probably stay elsewhere for my next Disney trip.
Home Away From Home

I spent a total of 15 months away from home while on a contract assignment with Disney as a utility inspector. The staff and management at the Holiday Inn Resort off SR 535 is a World Class Resort with a special shout-out to Director of Guest Services - Danny Baez and to Corporate Sales Manager - Amy Hart. They always professionally greeted me every time I came up to the front desk. Their courtesy and friendly smiles were always a warm welcome, especially being away from home for so long a period. They provided me a balcony room overlooking the pool and the maid service was excellent, as they attended to my room every day and made sure I had fresh linen and clean towels. The greatest thing again was the professional manner in which they all conducted themselves and the cleanliness of the Resort.

upon arrival very clean rooms and front desk staff very accommodating and was able to put all our rooms right next to each other! wasnt told anything about the amenities or housekeeping upon arrival so had to do some research and keep asking questions. housekeeping staff was fantastic throughout stay! first night AC wasnt working and mait attempted to fix but our room did not get below 72 throughout our stay. hotel very close to the parks and had to do ubers due to the shuttle only able to take a certain amount of guest and at least an hour before park open times which i didnt understand since staying at this property we dont have early park access. hotel was very clean but was a bit confused by all the dollar tree halloween decor. pool area very nice and clean but needs updating with new furniture. overall the hotel needs a renovation as everything is used, chipped or broken and our elevators were not the best and would get get stuck on some floors. applebees as the neighboring restaurant would definitely go with something else considering its a resort. honestly being a 'resort' i would expect more amenities and there really wasnt, only reason for the 4 stars was the staff. next time will probably pay a little more for shuttle service and more amenities.
Wish we stayed longer!

This hotel was amazing. My aunt and uncle recommended it and I’m so happy we took their advice. The pool area is lovely. Lots of palm trees, plenty of comfortable lounge chairs and two hot tubs. There’s also a poolside bar, air hockey and a pool table outside. Daniel is incredible. He had games for the kids and even did magic tricks with my girls! We surprised our kids with a Disney trip and he put balloons in our room upon arrival to add to the magic. Every single member of staff we interacted with was remarkable. So friendly and helpful. The room itself was super spacious and the beds were very comfortable. However, my side of the mattress had a slight dip. Probably time to replace that one! The mini fridge was large, with a freezer section that actually kept things frozen. We enjoyed being able to make our favorite coffee in the Keurig and reheat leftovers in the microwave. The space was very functional, however, having the toilet separate from the sink would have been a big bonus. It worked just fine for us, but some families may find that inconvenient. One of our favorite features was the convenience store inside of the hotel. It’s a separately owned shop, the owner is so friendly and the store has SO much! Best stocked hotel store I’ve ever seen. The shuttle to Disney was wonderful. We used it each morning and arrived before park open. We didn’t use it at night, but they do pick up as well. The Applebee’s was fantastic. You get free meal vouchers for kids meals, 3 times a day! Just go to the front desk before you enter the Applebee’s and pick up your voucher. Overall, there’s really nothing bad I can say about this resort. The only regret I have is not staying longer. We had such a lovely time and will definitely return.
