Great location, average hotel

This hotel is lucky it has an amazing location, because otherwise it would be a 2 star in my opinion. Pros: - LOCATION. We walked to and from EPCOT quite a bit. And You can also take the gondala or boat to Hollywood studios. - Polite staff Cons: - Facilities. Our room’s facilities were average at best. The carpet was damp the entire time, our phone fell apart when i picked it up, the toilet seat was broken, the 1 hook to hang your towel was broken. One of the days, our 0600 shower was cold and we ran the water for a while and eventually gave up on trying to get hot water. - Our check-in paper said they would clean our room on the third day, but they didn’t show up so I had to call on the 4th day. Then, they took all our wash clothes but never replaced them. - The verbal bus schedules we received didn’t seem to be accurate. There was nothing showing us estimated times or even a visual schedule we could reference. This was also an issue for the boats to/from Hollywood. It’s useless to take a boat, because you never knew when they would show up and you’d have to wait until the boat arrived before you knew whether or not it was for Hollywood or EPCOT. The app and screens that supposedly depict the times were down the entire time we were there. Lastly, the billing process was frustration. I checked out with the hotel and after clarifying 3 times that I didn’t have any other bills. I found an additional bill on my credit card statement later on. I reached out and they said they would remove it due to the other issues above, but it’s been almost 3 weeks and I still have not seen a refund. Overall, if you’re a Disney lover and don’t care about the hotel itself, this is a great hotel because it’s location is awesome. However, if you care about hotel facilities and intend on spending time at the hotel and not at the parks, I don’t think this is worth it.

Worst hotel we’ve ever stayed in

We checked into the Dolphin resort on December 3rd for a 6 night stay. We left today to check into a different resort for the our final 2 nights - this resort is honestly that bad. We’ve lost our money and had to pay extra for an additional hotel but we weighed our options and decided this was best for us to enjoy the remainder of our trip. When we checked in we “upgraded” to a balcony room. The room was disgusting. The bed was not properly made, there were rips in the sheets, the place was thick with dust, there was gum stuck to the carpet, hair all over the bathroom. I don’t expect that from a budget resort, never mind a deluxe. We went to reception, there were no other balcony rooms, they said someone would come to clean our room. I accepted this initially, however when my husband used the iron and it poured brown water all over his shirt we were done. Back to reception, downgraded room. I cannot fathom the lack of care from management, they asked “what can we do to improve your stay?” To which we replied “you tell us?” Apparently they could think of nothing. We then realised my husband had left his trainers in the first room. It took us 40 minutes to get them back. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of the convenience of walking to Epcot & Hollywood Studios, but I cannot say the hotel is worth the price just for that. The service was beyond terrible, the hallways aren’t being cleaned, there was rubbish everywhere and the room was basic, grubby & dirty. When we checked out today the reception acknowledged it was 2 days early, apologised for our experience and then asked for the $160 resort fee - all we could do was laugh. Of course we refused to pay this fee and that was at least accepted. We always stay at universal and we will from now on. I’d avoid this hotel at all costs.

Super convenient, very clean, mixed experience with service

We stayed two nights near Thanksgiving and would definitely be interested in returning. Positives: + Hotel was super clean in the room and public spaces like the gym. + The gym was super spacious, had tons of windows for natural light, and lots of different kinds of equipment. Top-notch fitness center! + The lap pool was great. I had it to myself for both swims. Though it's a non-standard length, so that was funny. + Access to Epcot was stellar. You could take the ferry (about 10 minutes) or walk (about 17 minutes) to get to the international gateway. It was super easy to take an afternoon siesta back at the room, then head back for fireworks. + The room was really nicely laid out, including little details like plugs in convenient spots. + Dominga, the housekeeper, was awesome. I stopped her in the hall for some coffee packets and she was so nice, and offered me several other supplies just in case I'd like them as well. + Check-in was super speedy. I got nervous seeing a bit of a line forming, but they added extra staff to clear out the line quickly. It was great. Negatives: - Parking (either self-parking or valet) was quite expensive. - The bathroom didn't have a fan you could turn on. So bathroom smells linger a bit. - The shuttle to Magic Kingdom had several stops before getting to the park, and still meant you had to go to the monorail/ferry station instead of straight to the park. - The hotel promoted their text-message-based service in several places. But when I tried to ask a question about my checkout time and request coffee packets for my room (simple things), the text message responder was confused. Then assured me I'd get supplies in 20 minutes, but they never arrived. - There wasn't much sound insulation between the room and the hall, so you could hear bustle of people walking around. Though the insulation between rooms seemed pretty good.

Great hotel and location

Over the years we have stayed in various Disney hotels from Polynesian to Port Orleans. I have to say that the Dolphin’s value is excellent compared to the other resort hotels. Staff was very accommodating, days before we were coming in we asked if we could have a connected room with our son and his family and they made it happen. We arrived earlier than expected and our room was ready. Everyone was very helpful. The fountain restaurant was great, first visit for our grandchild and it was a great place to grab a bite to eat, the restaurant personnel were so friendly and helpful, the food was decently priced and the food (and ice cream!) was delicious. The location of the hotel was very central to everything, you could walk or boat to Epcot, take a short bus ride to magic kingdom/animal kingdom. Definitely will stay here again.

STAY HERE! You won’t regret it.

The Dolphin was wonderful! We got here early in the morning after a long red-eye flight. Unfortunately, our room wasn’t ready yet, so we crashed on their couches in the lobby for a bit. They then informed us that they had made a room available for us! So we were able to catch a nice long snooze before our dinner reservations that night. During our entire week long stay, the service was top tier. They provided extra blankets and water bottles, and the front desk was always friendly. Location was wonderful, it was very easy to either get a bus or an Uber to Magic Kingdom, Disney Springs, and Animal Kingdom, and then the ferry boats made for a wonderful transportation experience to Epcot and Hollywood Studios! The Pool complex was on another level, I enjoyed it very much! Everything was clean and tidy, and the staff were absolutely wonderful. I’m already planning our next trip and definitely planning on staying here again!
