Great Place for Family Time

This was our first time at Birch Forest Lodge and not our last! My wife and I rented cabins 6-7-8 and invited our 2 children and their families. We had a wonderful time and decided to repeat in 2023. Adam is a great host, very helpful! Our 4 grandchildren loved fishing from the dock and loved the beach and all the floatation devices. The water by the beach is usually calm and is shallow. Very safe for the young ones.

Adam, Kasey and family have done a wonderful job at preserving Birch Forest Lodge over the years and taking it to the next level. Their care for the property’s lodge, cabins, ancillary buildings, entertainment grounds, beachfront, water-crafts and the accessory water-craft toys has set them apart from so many other resort offerings. From their cabin’s quintessential exterior facades to comfortable mattresses…from updated appliances to just the right placement of interior wall hooks for tossing a beach towel and cap onto after a successfully fun day on the lake, makes this resort an ideal family getaway. Our family enjoyed every day with what the resort offered, from fishing in newer boats, pontoons and on docks, paddle-board racing, playing on the beach-front and sandy bottom waters, kayaking during speechless sunrises, standing on the island points during stunning sunsets, playing disc golf, bocce ball, horse shoes, beanbag toss, as well as enjoying plenty of fun treats, games and souvenirs at the lodge and not least…kicking back in the hammock and frequent grilling and s’more making. We’re already looking forward to coming back in the coming years and try out some of the other cabins as well.

The lake the Birch Forest Lodge is on, is pristine, clean water, and good fishing. The Lodge fits in that profile. The cabin we were in was very clean and comfortable. The cabin concept makes you feel as if you are the only one on the lake. The sunsets are a sight to be seen. To hear the loons, see the Eagles, watch the ducks, and if you are lucky watch the beaver and mink. There is a waterfront/beach that your whole family can enjoy water sports. It is a shallow water area that kids can play and have a great experience. The lodge/park is family run and make you feel as part of their family.

Our family of ten stayed at Birch Forest Lodge from July 9 to 16, 2022. We rented the lovely Voyageur Cabin and the Black Bear Lodge Room. We were all comfortable and felt very welcome. The cabin was well equipped to cook for ten people. Adam spent time telling us how to use the beautiful new pontoon. With ten people the fishing trips never stopped. We caught countless delicious Bluegill, Bass, Northern Pike, and a few Crappie. Adam and Kasey made us all feel welcome. We all had a great time. Louis and Rebecca Phillips and family

Another great week at Birch Forest Lodge

This resort has everything you need for a fun week of fishing, relaxation and meeting new friends. The Monday potluck was a nice way to visit with people and enjoy good food. Adam and Kasey are fine hosts and Adyson and Brock do their chores everyday to keep things running smoothly. We brought our own boat but Adam has really nice boats and even pontoons to rent if you want to go that way. Adam is really knowledgeable on where to fish and what to use for catching. We caught walleye ,northern pike ,crappie ,sunfish, and smallmouth,largemouth,and rock bass. We had three fish fries during the week and all five of us had plenty of fish to bring home. Most of the guests are from out of state and return every year. Iowa,Wisconsin,Illinois ,Indiana and Missouri are all represented. There was even a couple from Kansas. That should tell you all you want to know about the attraction of BFL. We will be back again next year. Thanks Adam, Kasey, Adyson,Brock and Chase for a great time again this year.
