Lost in the Business District

Reviewed 16 july, 2019

The rooms are small. The free breakfast is basically a bowl of miso soup and rice. I recommend going to a conbini and stock up on food items in order to skip the disappointing breakfast. Another downside is the location. Since it is in the financial district, you will have to take expensive taxis everywhere if you're not good at the train system. It's about $20 USD a ride.

Good location

The inn's location is easy to find and is close to commercial establishments. The room is small and compact but understandable since it's common in Japan. Management is also kind to keep our luggage after we check out.

Close to the station

Well presented and clean hotel. The staff were very friendly and accomodating. They gave us lots of suggestions to do and see in Osaka. Yodoyabashi train line is very convenient to get to and from the main tourist spots - although Japan in general has the best train system I've ever experienced. There is a 7/11 across the road which is very convenient. There is also a laundry and dryer at the lobby which I found really handy. Only thing I didn't appreciate about this hotel is having to leave the room by 10am until about 3-4pm for housekeeping. They do however leave enough towels etc if they are unable to enter your room. Only hard keys available and had to be left at reception every time you leave the hotel, overall enjoyed my stay :)

Clean and Budget-Friendly

We stayed here for a few nights during our very brief tour around Kansai area. The location is very convenient and near the tram station (few minutes walk). This hotel is decent enough for its price. They even offer cheaper rates if you go for their Eco-Plan. The japanese breakfast buffet was also good. I highly recommend this place for travellers who will mostly be out exploring the city and only needs a space to sleep in.

Decent location

Located in a quiet area but handy for subway. As per most hotel rooms in Japan in this price range the rooms are small but clean. Hotel staff friendly and effecient. Breakfast is very basic, rice balls, pickles and soup. If you prefer a western breakfast there's just bread and sausages available. If the breakfast area is full you can eat in the meeting room! There's a seven-eleven directly opposite the hotel and a couple of coffee shops nearby plus several restaurants in the area.Considering hotel prices in Japan the Toyoko Inn offers a reasonably economic and comfortable stay.
