Excellent breakfast and good location

I stayed here for one night - stopping over briefly after a flight from the UK, on the way to Bergen. The hotel is well situated close to shops and restaurants, and about a 15 minute walk to the main train station in Oslo.
The reception is welcoming, with a fire going and nicely furnished. There were two staff on the desk and they could not have been more helpful.
I had booked a single room. It was quite compact with an armchair, single bed, desk and chair. There is a fridge, iron, hairdryer and kettle in the room. I would suggest leaving a mug rather than the small tea cup that was provided. The room was clean and the sound insulation was fine - my window overlooked a main street but there was no noise intrusion. It was also very clean. For UK visitors, the TV only had one English language channel, Sky news but I watched some Norwegian TV which was actually films with the original English language dialogue but sub-titled, which was fine.
There was a shower (no bath) but oddly enough the shower enclosure did not go all the way around the shower so the water spilled out onto the toilet. The floor dried swiftly as there was underfloor heating in the bathroom which you could operate using a switch by the door. The towels were clean but very small and quite thin, this may be because I am used to hotels in the UK and USA where towels are usually quite large and fluffy, and feel much more luxurious.
Breakfast was included - this was a buffet, which was very well stocked - cereals, fresh fruit including melon and pineapple, yoghurts, toast, waffles, cheese, ham, pate, jams but also a cooked breakfast of eggs, bacon and sausage if you wanted. There was also a choice of juices and tea or coffee. I think I paid about £70 for the night and it was well worth it for that price. I did not eat dinner there - the lunchtime and evening menus are traditional Norwegian with most dishes accompanied by turnips. I went to the Sushi restaurant just up the street, and can recommend this if you don’t fancy trying traditional Norwegian food (I did try it on my trip, just not at this restaurant!)
Absolutely the best.

The room was great. The location the best and the breakfast was beyond amazing. We loved our stay at this hotel and we would definitely be back next time in Oslo. I had never stayed at this hotel and i must say it exceeded our expectations. It is within walking distance from everything Oslo have to offer and from plenty of great restaurants.
Very nice hotel with a great location and an opulent breakfast buffet

Bigger single-rooms than other hotels in that area. Super central - you have walking distance to everything. Quiet area with nice staff. Loved the breakfast and the opportunity to sit by the window like in a cafe.
