Amazing place

Reviewed 1 december, 2021

Went with my husband and kids over the Thanksgiving weekend and we had a great time. The suite was clean and in great condition. We had a view of the beach and golf course. The property is kept clean and well maintained. The pools were kept warm. Very good restaurants in the area. Beautiful and quiet areas where you could take a nice walk. Overall an amazing stay. Will definitely go back.

Wow; How Disappointing

Brought the family here for Thanksgiving. What a disappointment. We are leaving early. First, the place is worn, dirty and in desperate need of significant maintenance. Next, half of the on-site restaurants/bars/amenities are closed….hopefully undergoing the desperately needed repairs, but no one told us in advance. What remains open is inadequate and underwhelming, both in terms of quality and service. Service from the staff is poor. The employees obviously have not been properly or sufficiently trained. I realize finding help right now is difficult, but I’m still being charged full card rates. It’s almost like an outdated 1980s Ritz Carlton mated with a truck stop: the result is a worn-out property being run by amateurs. Lots of potential here, but it is being squandered. We are checking out early — shattering our holiday plans — but staying here longer seems like a way-worse option. Sad. Won’t be back.

Beautiful but...

This place is really beautiful located about 45 minutes out of St. Augustine. And therein was part of the problem, we thought it was much closer to St. Augustine than it was. If you leave at 9am and spend the day in St. Augustine, great. But you can't just go there for dinner, it's quite far. After a few hours there we decided to enjoy the hotel since it is not cheap. The water park and slides were nice but there was garbage and debris all over. Even at 9:30 am there were cups and garbage all over - clearly no one was cleaning. Pretty gross. The most annoying part is we reserved a room with 2 double beds and they gave us 1 King...with 2 kids. We had to go buy an air mattress. Finally, there really are no good dining options - the chop house or sushi is not appropriate with kids. The place near the pool is so overcrowded and overpriced it's a really lousy option. We went food shopping at Publix and that was that. I think this place could be MARVELOUS - the beach is amazing, the pools are great. But they need better food options and a full cleaning - no one likes a musty smell.

Beautiful Resort on the Ocean and Golf Course with RUDE staff and old tired rooms. Only one restaurant on the premise

The suite we rented for my sons wedding was expensive (even though it was supposibly discounted) due to the wedding. The room was in need of re-decorationg with old decor and furnishings, The wedding, rehersal dinner and morning after the wedding breakfast was also very expensive! All this with a open bar for 4 hours and 89 guests from all over the country flying in for this horrific event! One problem after the other from the Resort wedding consultant loosing the Italian cookies we had flown in from a home town bakery to closing down the open bar 1 hour early telling my son that it was only contracted for 3 hours! This was untrue and to add insult to injury the Resort Security called the local police because my son refused to produce a credit card to pay for the last hour of the bar! CAN YOU BELIEVE this happened! All of the guests my son and daughter in law and numerous family members were staying at the resort for several days before and after the wedding, My husband and I had a credit card on file at the front desk and told all of the rude and uncaring staff members to just charge our card and not to disturb our guests and wedding reception, The local police came to our guest and family's shock but they were funny and stated"are you kidding me you want us to go an buy a couple of cases of Bud Light for you guys!: My husband and I tried for weeks after this disaster to speak and remedy these events with the management but to no avail. After weeks of trying to come to an amicable solution the management just refused to communicate with us! THEY JUST DIDNT CARE HOW THEY HAD RUINED MY SON's Wedding day! I tried to warn other potential couples by posting a review on the "Knot"but the review was not posted due to the fact that I didnt actually pay for the wedding (although my husband and I actually wrote a check to my son to pay for what he needed to and I did have the receipt of payment to the Resort for the morning after the wedding breakfast for 25 guests. but scuriously wasnt enough to allow my post?!) Perhaps the Knot and the Resort take care of each other? Calling the cops on the customers who paid over $20 thousand for the wedding reception, $2600 hundred for the Rehersal Dinner and $1200 for a breakfast for 25 guests. Not to mention the thousands of dollar from many guest staying at the resort and eating at the only and very expensive restaurant "The Alantic Grill" every day!, Along with man many golf rounds by the bridal party and guests, This RESORT COULD CAR LESS ABOUT THE PAYING GUESTS OR THE BRIDAL COUPLE! BUYER BEWARE

over priced

The room was beautiful. The property is beautiful & the golf courses are great. The food at the Atlantic grill is AWFUL. I had a seafood omelet for breakfast & it had no seafood! The grouper dinner was tasty but the curry rice was so over cooked it was uneatable! Way overpriced! Do yourself a favor & go off the resort to the local restaurants!
