Toes in the sand, drink in the hand...

We stayed here for a few nights this past weekend and absolutely loved it! Catarina, Perla and all the staff are extremely welcoming and hospitable.
The rooms are large, bright and airy. The king beds and high end sheets are extremely comfortable. Great bathroom and a great deck with a view of the bay in front of the hotel (we were in suite number 3).
Besides the great service and room, the best feature of Pousada Catarina, without a doubt, is the location. Removed from the hustle and bustle of the centro histórico of Partay, PC is literally on the beach of Praia Grande. You can walk out of your suite and in 50 steps you are in the sand. The breakfast is served at the restuarant in front of the pousada, Quiosqe São Francisco, also owned by Catarina, and absolutely worth eating several meals beyond breakfast. All Covid protocols were in place throughout the properties. Imagine eating a tasty breakfast with your toes in the sand! Divine...
Do yourself a favor if you are planning a trip to Paraty: Book this pousada well in advance, because rooms are hard to come by.

My wife and I stayed at Pousada Catarina for 4 days, and we had a real quality time there. It’s literary 100 feet from the ocean, feels like a private beach.
The owners are detail oriented: the bed sheet feels like silk; espresso coffee machine in the room; fancy soup; the place is impeccable! The breakfast is served right on the beach and Catarina bakes cakes every morning. I’ll definitely recommend it.
Thanks Catarina and Silvio for your great hospitality and above all to make us feel at home. I’ll see you soon! Cheers!
Impeccable stay - will definitely return

We stayed there for just one night and I wish we could've stayed much, much longer.
This is a fairly new inn and it shows: everything in the room is new and modern. And very tasteful. The room is spacious, tastefully decorated (with ceramic and beautiful flowers), and immaculate. The bedsheets and towels are of the highest quality and so are the toiletries (French brand L'Occitane). It is equipped with big flatscreen TV, cable, air con, ceiling fan, and a minibar (complete with beer and wine glasses and bottle openers). Honestly just go check the pictures, they are worth a thousand words. The bed is comfortable and with the bonus of a balcony overlooking the beach we got to sleep with the sounds of the ocean. Needless to say it was vey relaxing.
The service is also impeccable, very friendly and very attentive. The restaurant attached to the hotel is great, serves fresh seafood by the beach. But the highlight for me was the breakfast, also served by he beach. It is served individually, by guest. No free-for-all buffet gathering flies around. As soon as you sit down they bring a fresh tray of cheese and cold cuts, fruit salad, yogurt, granola, freshly baked cake and a basket of breads (three different types) with jam, butter and cream cheese... and more. A real feast for the eyes (and the stomach). They also offer you fresh coconut water straight out of the coconut to hydrate for the morning.
The inn is located at Praia Grande, a beach mostly for boats and speedboats. The view is amazing and you can rent one of those boats (by the hour) to tour around the shoreline of Paraty. I highly recommend you do that. Sure, there are he huge boat rides leaving from the city that you can book for cheaper with travel agencies, but this way you get to do whatever you want: whatever beaches or islands you want to visit, how long you decide to stay in one particular beach for swimming or scuba diving etc...
You can also walk a short distance to a neighboring beach more suitable for swimming (no boats around).
To get to the historic center of Paraty it is a 20-minute drive. I'm not sure if you can get there by public transportation but I assume so as there is a bus stop by the main road (rodovia Rio-Santos).
I highly recommend this inn to anyone wanting to enjoy the beautiful sights and beaches of Paraty. Hands down one of the best stays we have had so far. We wish we could've stayed longer and we are already making plans to return soon.

The Pousada Catarina is a dream. The rooms are very design and extremely clean. The pousada is on the beach so from your room you have to walk less than 50 meters to get to the beach ! The breakfast is absolutely delicious ... excellent cakes made by Catarina ! The location is amazing. You have paddle and kayacs on free access that allow you to go to the island in front of the Pousada ! The owners are really nice. I highly recomand this place.

We stayed at Catarina´s place this past June. Beautiful house. Just like the pictures. Everything inmaculatedly clean! Catarina and her staff were super friendly. They made their best efforts to help us plan our stay and coordinate activities. Catarina is very helpfull before the trip over the e mail as well. Breakfast at quiosque Francisco in beachfont location was fresh, abundant, homemade and delicious
It is important to consider renting a car to move around both to go to Paraty as well as northern and southern beaches during the day. very secure place. There is a beautifull beach within walking distance (5 minutes).
