Friendly staff and nice breakfast

Very friendly staff members that helped us when we arrived. We already had everything planned out but if you don't they have a variety of options to choose from in the vicinity. Shops and metro are close by so ideal if you don't mind taking public transport. Rooms were nice but a bit sketchy because even though everything was clean, there was some damage to the doors and the walls are a bit on the thin side. The beds were comfortable and we had a nice view onto the street. The breakfast was great, mostly bread with a wide range of meat and cheese, and even pastries. There's also cereal, orange juice and of course a coffee machine.
not worth the high price

unfriendly woman at the reception, lousy breakfast buffet: only sweetened cereals, only sugared yogurts, black bananas, very unreliable internet and wifi connection, rooms cheaply renovated, noise from the inner courtyard and outside, from the next room. great cleanliness

I WOULD NOT RATE THIS HOTEL
The experience I have just had at this hotel smacks of buyer beware and false promise.
On arrival at this hotel for 3 nights, my wife needed the toilet and we were told she would have to wait. There was a disabled toilet, which was a storeroom,on the ground floor, however no other facilities. My wife went off to find and use it anyway. We had booked a ‘comfort room’ from images we had seen online on the hotels website. I paid up front for 3 nights.
On approaching the room, there were signs that the hotel was extremely dilapidated with scratches on the door into the room and on entering, not enough space to comfortably accommodate us. The window looked onto a courtyard however the thoroughfare was outside the window and it felt extremely unsafe.
The decoration of the room was not at all welcoming and the bed was very short and narrow. The lights in the communal stair did not work. The atmosphere was dreadful. Not what we expected. Paid for 3 nights stayed for none… if I could I’d report this hotel as there procedure for checking status and safety for their guests during the pandemic is non-existent. No check of Passe Sanitaire and no masks.
Thankfully we’ve found other appropriate accommodation and I’m down €326…
Disappointing finish at the Clairefontaine Hotel.

The hotel in theory is an okay 3 star maximum hotel. It is well situated for travelling around the Paris sites and nice restaurants. However a few issues were experienced. On 2 of our 3 nights stay there was no hot water for a shower in the morning. The room safe did not work, one of the cups had not been cleaned and at breakfast on 2 of the mornings there was no plates and no large cups for team or a large coffee. These things happen of course, and were reported to the manager "Benjamin" and nothing happened, until our last morning. I mentioned this at the payout and he went ballistic about our complaint, saying things go wrong even in your own house. "Oh really", I replied, but I am paying for these things to work in a hotel. Perhaps a small discount would be in order. "No chance" I am not the boss, Oh yes you are. I don't think Trip Adviser will be impressed. "Just you do that" came an angry reply. So here I am with my report. Perhaps he should know that it is better to be a better host in the hospitality industry. It was like being back in the old Paris days when people didn't give a flying Merde. So maybe it's time for a new manager at the Clairefontaine. It ruined my last day in Paris which of course is a wonderful city.
The worst hotel ever

Dirty dirty dirty and the bathroom was scary
The room too small and dirty, the rug had holes...we complained about the situation and the owner or “manager” of the hotel was very politeness and rude
We changed hotel when we saw the situation (2h after the check in without using anything) and he charged all the amount in my credit card.
Please don’t go there
