The receptionist made a mistake by giving me a wrong information, telling me to wait to see the manager who will sort out my concern, it turn up the manager didn’t care that the receptionist made a mistakes, even worst than that the manager didn’t even try to understand me, I was meant to spend 2 night there I just did one, honestly there are better choices elsewhere, they just want you money and they’ll show that to you.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I asked them several questions about what to see and do around Paris and they were always happy to give recommendations. The location was great. The price was very fair. The only complaint that I have is the bathroom light didn’t work.

We've just returned from a 3 night visit to Paris. We chose the Marcel because I knew the area would be easy to get around. The neighborhood isn't posh, but across the street from Gare De l'est so very easy to maneouvre the metro to anywhere from there. The entrance to the hotel, let's it down. The street is a little grubby and you have to ring to be let in. There's a desk on the ground floor but it its not always manned. When you don't know where you're going its a little daunting. But once you're inside. its warm and clean. Reception on the first floor is manned 24 hours a day if you need anyone. The hotel is petite. A small reception area with coffee and an aperatif is available should you want one. We arrived a few hours early so our room wasn't available. The staff kindly held our bags and delivered them to our room when it was ready, while we went sightseeing. When we got back in the late afternoon, the room was ready and a welcome refuge. Although it was small, it had everything we needed. The bed was clean and extremely comfortable. Plenty of clean towels. Robes and slippers. Paris was quite cold, but the room temperature was nice and toasty without having to turn on the heating. The window opened out on to the street for fresh air, and even though the hotel is on a busy road across from the station, it was not noisy. My french is limited and whenever I needed any assistance with directions or Metro alerts, the staff were always very accommodating. Breakfast was included and it was quite tasty. A selection of cold meats and cheeses. Yogurts, cereal, Freshly made, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage. Coffee, juices, and bottled water. Lovely french bread too. The dining room is small, but whether it was busy or quiet it was just fine. It seemed it was all couples. On our second day, we left the DND sign on the door and I was sent an email from the hotel to confirm if this was correct before attemtping to go into the room or leaving it unattended. I really appreciated this little touch from Izabel. We had only been there a night, so I emailed them back to say to leave it. I did appreciate them asking. I do recommend this for couples who need a comfortable place to sleep and a good location to set off for sightseeing, rather than families.
A great hotel with friendly staff

My wife, daughter and I stayed for 3 nights in a junior suite and it was just what we wanted. Very central, with helpful and friendly staff. The hotel was clean, efficient and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again. Some reviews have criticised the location for feeling not very safe. This was not our experience at all. We were also on the 6th floor and heard no road noise whatsoever. The breakfast was a good start for the day.
