More about the hotel
Great hotel close to the Eiffel tower with lots of stores and restaurants within walking distance
We went on a family Euro trip in 2018 with older parents and little kids and had a wonderful time at Novotel. The lobby is super kid friendly with tvs and games, and very inviting for adults as well. The lobby smells AH-MAZING!!! So does the Novotel in NYC, and my daughter and I have been chasing this smell for the last two years since we stayed at Novotel Tour Eiffel. I would love to know if there is a candle or air freshener available for sale to make my home smell as beautiful as the lobby of Novotel hotels. The hotel is centrally located, very close to the Eiffel tower, and within walking distance to stores like Monoprix which is basically the French version of Target, and lots of French cafes and restaurants. There is also a nice movie theatre within walking distance and a really good Iranian restaurant for those looking for good halal food. The only negative experience we had at this hotel was one night around 1am when a guy wearing a baseball cap knocked on my sister's door and kept knocking and asking them to open their door even after he was told he had the wrong room. Needless to say, they were not expecting anyone, so we called the lobby and asked them to send someone to check. Their room was close to the staircase, and whoever it was, disappeared into the exit with the stairs. That was a terrifying experience, one we could have done without! However, we had a wonderful time during our stay at Novotel Tour Eiffel, and would definitely stay there again.
-- At checking out, I asked to leave my baggage for a little while, but the front desk staff refused it, saying they have no room for luggage storage. She told me that we have to book an extra room to store baggage. I was very surprised and I've never experienced such a hotel that wouldn't allow us to leave the baggage before check-in/after check-out. Maybe this is due to Coronavirus, but if so, it should be explained in advance.
A short break in Feb 2020
Hi All, Going to try and keep this informative, honest & short (compared to a few of my other reviews)! The hotel itself is very modernistic downstairs, rooms not so much, but they are fairly spacious and clean. The entire hotel was clean. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was simply because of how close it was the Eiffel Tower, around a 10-minute walk. The majority of the staff were fantastic without anything to complain about and they dealt with any requests swiftly. The room service staff were a bit rude, but mostly nice. There are plenty of wonderful restaurants nearby and the staff always seemed to have great recommendations. The price of the hotel for its location is extremely reasonable (in my opinion). If you go to the lower entrance of the hotel and exit through the back you’re brought to a bit more of a rundown area that maybe not all people would feel safe walking around late at night, but that’s not something to judge this hotel off of, there is security all around the place. Was very surprised. We went over the Valentines period and all I can say is Paris is wonderful, especially at that time of year. Just a little reminder (!!!) - Remember Paris is a wonderful place, but as I am sure many people will know is it at times is filled with pickpockets. They will come up to you asking you ‘do you speak English’ with a clipboard of a picture of a disability icon and asking you to sign. Be careful! They are (I cannot obviously say all, but the high majority) trying to distract you whilst someone will come from behind to grab something from your pockets. Stay safe. I would recommend this hotel mainly because it’s clean, close to everything you need, and very reasonable for being so close to the centre of Paris. Do keep in mind, you’re in Paris - it’s not cheap. The drinks in the hotel for spirits are about €12 for a single & €24 for a double/per drink (Grey Goose price - cant remember other drinks off of the top of my head)
Amazing hotel!
I took my niece here for her birthday and wasn’t too sure what to expect, having never been to Paris before. But wow the hotel is stunning, modern and super clean. I was worried when they said we were on the 25th floor! But the views of the river seine from the window completely changed my mind. The breakfast was great and in the room there was always fresh bottles of water in the fridge and tea and coffee on the side with a kettle. The pool and sauna were very clean and all the staff were really friendly. One of the maids was a bit rude but that was maybe a miscommunication due to a language barrier I’m not too sure. The hotel was also in walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, about 10 minute walk and also not too far from the Arc de triomphe. Most places we ate around the hotel were lovely and bars were friendly, it wasn’t too cold considering it was March so that was nice too. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay again.
Musty smell & rude security
Musty smells cleaners always try to cover by spraying perfume. Dirtiest carpet & smelliest of all Novotel. Hey isnt this novotel in French capital. Security team have preference for Japanese tourist compared to other yellow coloured as obvious in their conversations asking if we were chinese or japonais. Their attitudes & gaze make whole place feel like big prison. Breakfast was long wait at the queue!! Good wifi, homeless sleeping outside hotel & walkways stinks of urine & trash. Bad for tourist.
